Black was just a suggestion, it would be contrasting with a yellow helmet and numbers...
And the grey would be a nice subtle break from monotony too...I know the bottom line is "win."
I just like the idea of shaking up the norm; simple things like alternate jerseys can energize a fan base, generate sales for the program, intrigue recruits and potential money that want the program to be progressive and hungry to energize the program for the future...just small things.
Maryland's hideous jersey from last years opener (the one modeled off of their state flag) weren't good by any means, but ESPN talked about it for a week and that garners residual effects throughout the program and the exposure to recruits and money (I think some money in that program basically said they would donate more if they stopped wearing those eyesores haha)
