I think his last name is actually spelled Wieneke though.

TV's blog said we were his only DI offer (though had a walk-on offer from the Gophers), which is shocking to me. Oh well, we were Zach Zenner's only DI offer and he turned out okay.

The kid has a motor and a mean streak on the field, but will his 6' frame add on enough to ward off blockers as a LB? I'm glad we will have some time to find his best fit, but his fit in the uniform looks pretty good!

Wieneke is 6-5 and his running and jumping ability makes him a matchup nightmare for most teams. "Jake thinks that if there are six guys on him I can throw it to him and he'll catch it," Skaja (Maple Grove QB) said. "To be fair, that's probably true. He told me that he won't let a ball I throw to him get picked off and he's kept his word."
If he stays motivated and works hard, he could really add to a very good passing game. Add some weight to his already imposing frame and he could be a nightmare for opposing defenses.
