    Re: 2013 Recruiting List

Heres a look at 2016 depth chart:
(* means the player had received DI offers other than SDSU, ** means they had an FBS offer) Not really the best way to determine how good a player is, but the only way I really have to judge this early.)

QB: SR Nate Meyer / JR Dalton Douglas
HB: SR Kyle Parris** / SR Isaac Rodriguez / RB Tom Peitz
    TE: SR Mitch Vojvoda
    TE: JR Eron Keely
WR: SR Connor Landberg / JR Stacy Keely
WR: JR Deondre Moore* / JR Connor Orgill
WR: SR Joseph Bednar / JR Jake Wieneke
LT: SR Nick Carr* / Charles Harmon**
    LG: SR Mike Shoff**
    C: JR Jacob Ohnesorge*
RG: SR Ty Soulek* / JR Joseph Stephens
    RT: SR Seth Lansman

    DE:
DT: SR Logan Rath / JR Kellen Soulek*
    DT: SR Jordan Brichacek*
    DE:
OLB: SR Nate Maxiell / JR Jesse Bobbit*
OLB: SR Andy Moritko** / JR Cole Langer*
MLB: SR Matt Romano / JR Mikias Alipate*
CB: SR Ezekiel Herndon / SR Herman Kleinsasser
CB: SR Dallas Brown / JR Freeman Simmons*
SS: JR Nick Farina / JR Bryson McCabe*
    FS: SR Nick Mears /

    PK:
    P:

So it looks like we could use some players at DE, TE, and another DT. I wouldn't be surprised if Moritko ends up playing DE or if Cole Langer played the FB/TE role.
LB Charles Elmore was part of the 12 class but didn't redshirt last year so he graduates in 2015.

Its not the hardest to find a WR or RB or QB to play as a freshman or soph. lineman its much harder to fill the void of losing upperclassman. I guess I find having depth at line positions more important then say RB or safetys for example. So missing a year of a particular class can hurt. look what we went through we a particiular class recently didnt fully pan out. took a few years to fill some holes.

I'm more worried about Defensive Linemen. I'm a firm believer that games are won in the trenches and with the fast paced offenses, depth at the DE/DT positions are becoming more and more important.

And Tom Pietz, a walk-on RB, who impressed the coaching staff last year during the fall.

They would be redshirt-sophomores by the time Zenner graduates.

It could be that a RB has already committed and we just haven't found out yet and that is why other players have gone elsewhere.
I was hoping for Wolpin or Thomas Warren but neither one of those is going to happen now. One thing to keep in mind is that the rb recruits might not like the depth chart right now. We got Zenner as a Jr, Gandy as a So, and Paris and Rodriguez as Fr next year. Wolpin even stated early playing time as a factor and the odds that he would play over Zenner or Gandy the next two years were shallow. I currently like our stable of backs with Zenner as the superstar, Gandy as the all around back, Paris as the bruiser, and Rodriguez as a scat back.

With that said rb is a position where you need to bring in a player every year.....depth can go from strong to weak in only a weeks time of fall camp.

This was the RB I really wanted to land. Really liked his running style.
