      Agreed. NDSU got straight up beat that day. I'd also say we're alot deeper than we were in 2007, which is certainly an advantage. Being able to roll as many players in and out is not a luxury many teams have.

          This game will be close. Throw out the records for both teams.

          The Bison's Tampa-2 defense plays a lot of zone coverage so I suspect Sumner will have a lot of yards. If the Jacks can also run the ball the Bison will be in trouble. If the Bison D can make the Jacks one dimensional (pass) then they should win.

          Should be a good game.

            I watched every snap of the Bison v Gophs game and the Bison looked good while the Gophs haven't shown much ability on either side of the ball. That said, the Bison are solid and deep in almost every position. In addition, they have a couple of difference/play makers that can swing the game in one play.

            Jacks have shown some flashes but have too many weaknesses and haven't shown the ability to play 4 quarters of solid FB. Bison favored by 10. If the Jacks can be at least +2 in the turnover battle and find a big play (punt return by Moss?) it could go down to the last possession.

            I've watched or listened to every game. Jacks don't get enough stops on 3rd down and long and don't put together sustained enough drives to regain field position and run clock at key times. We lose the field position battle despite a great punter. Can't get away with that against teams like UNI or NDSU.

            I'll take the Jacks but I want some points if there is money on the line. If there isn't, Jacks 31-30 in a stunning upset.

                Has the President any clue that this stuff is going on here? Looks like a good way to get kicked out of school, but I am old fashioned I guess. Would we have dared to do this to HM Briggs? No way Jose. Plus there was Dean of Men Walder to deal with.

                  Sumner gets yardage throwing the ball,lots of yardage.If he can eliminate throwing picks, and we get some running yards(100 or so)and we can limit the number of third down conversions the Bison make( i,ve always thought that first down and second down plays determine the success of third down conversions more so than the actual third down play,if you get 8 as opposed to none on first down , the chances of making a first down increases dramatically, plus you force the defense to defend against a wide variety of plays), the games a toss up.Flip a coin, as the element of luck might be the sole deciding factor,which team gets the most lucky breaks.

                    What would you have done with Briggs? Made a fake radio show? Did they have radios back then?

                    It's a funny account, no one will get kicked out of school for something like that.

                      Jacks must have a nearly perfect game to win. It's possible, but unlikely. Consistent defensive breakdowns and offensive turnovers have taken a toll on my optimism. Watching Sumner sling it will be fun anyway. He gives me hope for the future.
