    Re: We must protect this......

I am working so I can't be in Fargo. To be quite honest I'm not disappointed that I can't. I'll watch it at Ben's Brewing Co. in Yankton surrounded by Jackrabbit fans, much better experience.

We should win this game but I think its a pick'em. NDSU is a good team, not great, but neither are we. If either team gets a big break, turnover for a TD, kick return, etc.. that will likely make the difference. I don't see either team blowing the other out, neither offense is designed to do that and both defenses are solid, bend don't break kind of units.

I feel good about our special teams, running game, and QB play right now. I'm a little concerned about some of the play calling on big downs but can't complain about our performance on 3rd down last week.

If we hadn't laid an egg against Ind St. 2 weeks ago I'd be feeling even more confident about the outcome. That loss has me hesitant as I'm not sure which defensive unit is going to show up and whether or not we'll stop NDSU on 3rd down like we did MSU or practically give them 1st downs like we did ISU (most of that due to inept D on 1st and 2nd down).

So, I think its going to be a close, hard fought contest that goes down to the wire. We can't miss any FG's or blow any scoring chances. In the end the Jacks get the win but by less than 7 points.

NDSU has more than double the sacks that SDSU has (25-12). Outside of the UNI game, the Bison have given up 12 sacks in the other 8 games. The UNI game was dreadfull, though.

All I keep thinking about is "what if" SDSU had one more win and this game was basically for either team to make the playoffs. I know SDSU would need to beat UND but I think they'll take care of business. If SDSU was in that spot, I'd really be looking forward to this game even more. I think both sides would be. Should be a great game to watch and I will be doing that from home in the Twin Cities.

        Go Jacks!

I've seen a decent amount of NDSU games this year and I've seen all of SDSU's games.

The Bison have been a hard team to figure out and have been pretty inconsistent.

They seem to run 3 plays. Run the ball with DJ, play-action pass to a FB or TE, and play-action pass deep to WR Halloway.

The "key" to the game in my opinion is if SDSU can get pressure on the QB. The Bison O-Line is a good run blocking unit (per usual), but their pass protection has been a little suspect. Their QB Mohler is the wildcard because you never quite know what you're going to get. Sometimes he will surprise with a nice 30 yard pass with some zip, and other times he will do something that makes you scratch your head. That's why I think it's key that SDSU puts pressure on him. My favorite college football play this year is when Mohler took off running against Illinois St and had a decent 20-30 yd. Than to end the play, instead of stepping out of bounds, he tries to run over a CB but the CB just flattens him and he fumbles the ball. It was pretty hilarious.
He lost that game for us all by himself. It would be nice to be 7-2 right now but the better QB (Jensen) has been cleared to play. Jensen(RFR) is bigger, stronger, faster, better arm and makes better decisions compared to Mohler. Mohler will probably transfer because he is not going to move ahead of Jensen after this season.

It will come down to our offense and its ability to move the ball. If the Jacks defense gives us 3rd and longs then it will be a long day. Bison defense is good and will give up some yds but it is much improved compared to last year.

          Bison 28-17

I'd actually rather face Jenson than Moehler. From what I saw of Jenson he is tough and can throw the deep ball but he's not very accurate.

Just looked at Brock's stats and looks like my memory was correct, he completed 47% of his passes.

He is a better QB....stats do not tell the whole story. He has that "it" factor about him....huge upside.

I suspect Mohler will start but if he falters, it wouldn't surprise me if Bohl puts Jensen in.

He will be the starter the next 3 yrs for the Bison unless a younger
QB comes up and beats him out.....Mohler will not.

Our defense is playing very well the last few games.....gave up only 15 to Indiana State that put up 41 against the Jacks. Jacks are tough and will get some yards but will not run up and down the field.

It will be a good game.

I'll be right behind the Jacks bench giving them encouragement....

Jacks coaching staff, especially head coach, is better.

Not many players on this Jack's team have lost to the Fison. Maybe Ludeman?

                    Jacks win, 31 - 20.

OK, I'll say it. It should be a whale of a game!

Honestly his name shouldn't be Bohl, it should be Ahab with all the whales his team gets.
