Re: We must protect this......
I am working so I can't be in Fargo. To be quite honest I'm not disappointed that I can't. I'll watch it at Ben's Brewing Co. in Yankton surrounded by Jackrabbit fans, much better experience.
We should win this game but I think its a pick'em. NDSU is a good team, not great, but neither are we. If either team gets a big break, turnover for a TD, kick return, etc.. that will likely make the difference. I don't see either team blowing the other out, neither offense is designed to do that and both defenses are solid, bend don't break kind of units.
I feel good about our special teams, running game, and QB play right now. I'm a little concerned about some of the play calling on big downs but can't complain about our performance on 3rd down last week.
If we hadn't laid an egg against Ind St. 2 weeks ago I'd be feeling even more confident about the outcome. That loss has me hesitant as I'm not sure which defensive unit is going to show up and whether or not we'll stop NDSU on 3rd down like we did MSU or practically give them 1st downs like we did ISU (most of that due to inept D on 1st and 2nd down).
So, I think its going to be a close, hard fought contest that goes down to the wire. We can't miss any FG's or blow any scoring chances. In the end the Jacks get the win but by less than 7 points.
