    Re: UNI Week

A UNI player was arrested Tuesday for a July assault that left the victim with stitches in his face. The player was "suspended" from team activities last week, prior to the arrest. He's back with the team this week. [sarcasm] Harsh punishment. [/sarcasm]

      Re: UNI Week

Is there anyone that doesn't see this game as a must win game for the Jacks? Without it 8 wins are not possible. Some people have said they don't think 7-4 will make it.
I think it is a must win for the spirit of the team. I like that they will retain McKnight and Castle(How is that not the name of TV police drama?)O-line-up.
I do believe the team will be playing with their hair on fire for the rest of the year when they win this game.
With fans like this who needs enemas.....

Apparently Rex Ryan is handling the "punishment" for the UNI Panthers as well. (He must be pretty good.)

That is typical of Farley and the UNI football program. It has been a win at all cost program since he has been at the helm.

              Re: UNI Week

I think it's pretty simple. Play like they played @Nebraska and the Jacks will come home with the W.

Play like they played vs Ill. St. and and @ Deleware, they'll come home 0-4. How's that for really sticking my neck out there!?

Really though, we're 0-fer @ UNI and what...1-3 overall vs. them since 2006.

I think in 06 we played them pretty good at their place, but lost, 07 they trounced us at CAS, 08 they trounced us in the dome, and of course, last year we won at home.

I'd like to say if we held Martinez in check, we can hold UNI's QB in check, we'll see if that's the case.

I have no clue whether SDSU will win this or not.

We have the talent to win. So does UNI. Neither team is considerably better than the other. Each has different strengths and weaknesses. So, it comes down to execution and effort. UNI has shown that they can be forced into turnovers. The Jacks are prone to big penalties. It will still most likely come down to the LOS and I think SDSU will win that battle. Jackrabbits in a close one. I'll be snagging paddlefish and listening on WNAX.

                  Wrong.

He was suspended last week, but the charges weren't made public until this week.

This "incident" happened in July...yep about 3 months ago and the kid is just now pressing charges. I know the family that is pressing the charges, and I know the kid that is pressing the charges. I can promise you this is a whole lot of nothing and the family is trying to get some "spotlight" with these charges at this point.

How has Farley been "win at all costs"? We kicked off our two best WR in 2007 when we were ranked #1 late in the season. One deserved to be kicked off, the charges against the other player were dropped and it later came out that he was arrested only because he was in the house at the time of Johnny's arrest. That didn't matter Farley kicked him off. There have been a couple o-lineman that have been asked not to return due to criminal incidents.

The big one that people like to bring up is the Austin Steichen fight at the lakes that summer that didn't result in a suspension. Well, that is because the charges were dropped because they were a lie.

thats the great thing about forums- u have your opinion, I have mine and so does everyone else. Maybe if he would quit recruiting so many thugs he wouldn't have to kick so many of them off.

Jacks are very focused and mad. Jacks Win - 17-7.

As for UNI thugs, I've watched 3 of the last 4 UNI games in person. My impression, UNI plays "dirty". "Dirty" players tend to be attracted to "dirty" coaches. Just my opinion, shouldn't offend anyone. Perhaps my opinion is swayed by UNI's relative success, I don't think so, but perhaps.

"Dirty" players can get knocked on thier butts same as "nice" guys.On a side note, seems to me anyway ,it just seems like you hear a lot more about college players getting into trouble with the law now than you did even 5 to ten years ago.

                            Thugs? How so?

I;m sure all of the players on SDSU's roster are perfect angels off of the field.

Try to run all over us..please. We are giving up 1.6 yards per carry

Gonna need a smack thread if this deteriorates any further.

I don't think SDSU needs to "run all over" the panthers. We definitely need to establish a run game indicating control of the offensive LOS. I suppose you can't blame a team coming of a 27-0 loss for boasting about their defense.
