McNorton finished with 5 yards net and Sigers had only 2.

    That was an *ugly* game.
I guess that makes sense. I have heard many Bison fans talk about sub-par line play.

      Re: UNI Week

This is jut me looking for some clarification:

Who is calling the plays for SDSU on Saturday's? And with that, who's putting together the primary game plan?

I was at the Illinois State game, Meadows was not calling the plays from the sideline from what I could tell. That makes me believe Eidsness was calling the plays on that day anyway. And if Eric is calling plays he's got a heavy hand in the game plan as well.

Just curious if anyone has any concrete info on this.

Terrible turnover problem this year for the Cats.

        Good defense.

Going to come down to line play and if our defense can force some turnovers. We will see how good our O-line is this week. Hope they keep same config as the Nebraska game.

Why not run playaction off Minett and bootleg TOB out left of right. Rolling him out cuts the amount of field that he has to read to make the pass. We have all seen that reading defenses is still one of his weak points, so why not make it easier for him?

Correct. We win games by employing a similar game plan as we had Saturday against NU and similar execution. Need to eliminate a few mistakes/penalties and not turn it over.

Our special teams did a very nice job and that must continue Saturday. No getting cute or asking too much from guys that don't have the ability.

What do we know? Minett will find yards if the O-line makes holes and he won't fumble. Duffy and Kool can create yards when spelling Kyle. Keep it simple for TOB and you keep it simple for the O-line, fewer screw-ups mean fewer sacks and fewer turnovers.

3 runs and a 40 plus yard punt is a great offense when you're pinned deep in your own territory. Don't miss tackles. You don't have to make the spectacular hit. Slow the ball carrier down until your buddies get there to finish him off. Take advantage of UNI's mistakes, they are going to make a bunch. Most of all, just win baby!!

I have been wondering that also. Make them first think run. I also thougth why not try pump fake the opposite side he will throw too, to try to get the safety from following his eyes to his reciever. get the safety to back off.

                    Re: UNI Week

Blocking for an immobile QB that doesn't like to step up in the pocket isn't easier because you roll him out. Stick to quick passes with limited read responsibility and use the pass to set up the run.

We have to find a way to score without expecting TOB to throw the ball for 300 and 3 TDs. We just don't have the passing game to expect that.

If the recievers would catch the ball. Many of the drops I have noticed were not bad thrown balls. If he has a better group of Receivers he looks better then he does now. Give him Harris and Fox and Steffen, and he looks like a solid QB in my opinion. However young we are at WR, the future sure looks bright.

I didn't mean to imply he isn't a good QB, I think he his. He showed that last year and I think there have been glimpses this year. No doubt the inexperience and lack of size at WR has hurt him.

However, he is what he is which is a 2nd year guy with limited speed and still some limited pocket presence. If we try to do too much with him I think the chance of sacks, yardage loss, and even more reliance on the pass results. When you have the running potential we have you can't not run the ball as a priority. Not to mention the harm of the all-to-familiar drive killing dropped passes or interceptions.

Meadows calls the plays. The game plan is put together by all the offensive coaches.

The key to this game is to get our guys to actually playing like they are capable. We got a preview of that last weekend but still wasn't perfect.

We have the talent, we just don't seem to have the confidence to play up to it yet. I plan on a breakout this week for us.

I agree. Its use your strengths and minnimize weaknesses. Berry was not a great moving QB, but was able to aviod sacks rather well. Same for TOB. As long as he gets the ball away before being sacked that is good enough even if hes not a great mover. I would like to see him step into his throws more.

I feel both our QB and WRs can be very very good, but just need to find the same page, just watch out when they do. WE can run for 150 yards agame, would be nice to match with 200 yard effort passing would really make the running even more effective. In time I think we will get there this year will take time, but next year I imagine big things for sure.

Wr's have a bright future. If my memory serves me right our TEnd and running back dropped the 2 balls last Saturday. Other than that I don't remember seeing any others as I watched.
