An ardent supporter of the hometown team should go to a game prepared to take offense, no matter what happens.Robert Benchley US actor, author, & humorist (1889 - 1945)
Had to go out to my car to listen to the game on the radio. The eighth inning bites the Jacks again. Jack's have some poor fielding and compound their mistakes, leading to 4 Leatherneck runs. 5-2 WIU going to the Jacks last at bat.

Pitching will keep you in a game, along with that, hitting and fielding will win it for you. We're missing something, let's go recruit and field a better team next year. Thanks to this years team for trying their hardest.
The Jacks had to set some sort of record for runners left in scoring position this weekend....unreal.
It all started in the first inning with having the bases loaded with no outs and only scoring one run. In the two night games the Jacks played , I don't think I have ever seen so many swings and misses against 82-85 mph fastballs in my life.
i believe the fielding has been pretty solid, except for the 8th inning of the WIU game. It just seems like we need some bats added to the mix.

Absolutely right. Everyone will point to the error in the 8th inning, but this team didn't hit with runners on base all season. The error didn't cost us the game...

I think fielding errors led to winning runs being scored in both games we lost in the tourney, although not so much a problem during the season,it was a problem in the tourney.
The big problem as stated is not getting players on bases, but once there, getting them home. That to me says the batting order has too many weak links.
Baseball relies on your team mates to get you home, once you've done your part and got on base safely. You cannot do it on your own (usually, barring errors ,stealing bases, etc). You only get three outs and the innings over ,any player who makes too many outs during the season, hurts the team.JMO......Look for the players who are a "hard out".
I know, everyone wants these players and they're hard to come by,proud of the effort our guys gave, just wasn't meant to be this year.
A big thank you to our SDSU Baseball team. I got a feeling they are better than their record. A few missed opportunities and we still might be playing baseball. Good luck to the Bison, they too have had their ups and downs.
