Oregon's Sport Info Dept. is in the "who-dat?" mode in putting together a story. Not surprising since it's our first trip to the NCAA Tourney in baseball. They should call Autenrieth, the guy catching Somsen in the bullpen, for a colorful quote or two.

Per TV's blog, Autenrieth told coach that Somsen was throwing "video game stuff" during warm-up and that is why Somsen was left in to finish the game.

That's a classic.

Any day you beat the Bison is a good day. Beat 'em twice in one day and that is the definition of utter sports satisfaction. 'Specially when there is something on the line, like competing in the D-1 baseball World Series qualifying rounds

Volleyball was our very first, if I'm not mistaken.

Women's soccer has an NCAA tournament victory too, I believe (vs. Colorado, 2009).

You know you have excellent pitching and defense when you score the bare minimum of one run,and still win the game.Hope the trend continues of good defense and we get the strikes (or non-strkes,if batters are suckered into swinging at them) past the next group of hitters we have to face in the regionals.....Go Jacks!

This is un-charted territory for us,the competition level is about to go up a notch,this is really good for the program to experience this level of competition,the players will really benefit from post season play,and we as fans get to follow their exploits and cheer them on a little bit longer,great to be a Jackrabbit fan,....go Jacks!

Wow, both teams combined to leave a small country on the bases today.
