Mrs. JD and I will be leaving shortly to attend today's game. I'm embarassed to admit I haven't watched an SDSU game live since I was in college! (Clashes with track meets.) But this team and this program is something special and today is near perfect....GO JACKS!
i did not know that marcus heemstra played baseball for the Jacks
yeah he is a little raw (big step from small town Iowa legion ball to D-I) and I was surprised he didn't red shirt but he is 6'9" and has a solid fastball (88mph in hs; I don't know what he has been clocked at this year)
Perfect day for baseball and a couple of nice wins in Brookings today. We started hitting the ball nicely in the second game. Partly cloudy, 70 degrees and an occasional breeze. Here's proof.
An earlier poster asked about Marcus Heemstra. Heemstra looked good pitching the last inning of the second game. He's one tall dude and it seems when he's delivering, his arm is about three feet closer to the base than the average pitcher!
ORU swept Oakland to remain 2 games behind. Need the win tomorrow also.
ORU is also playing well. No matter what happens today, the league championship will be determined by next weekend; although it sure would be nice to be 3 games up going into next weekend. Go Jacks!
How does a tiebreaker work? I am assuming head to head record, but I am not sure.

You are correct, the tiebreaker is head to head.We were regular season champs, #1 tournament seeds and hosting the tournament this year because we took 3 out of 4 from ORU last year even though both finished 19-9.
