ELMHURST, Ill. - The Summit League and Midcontinent Communications, based in Sioux Falls, S.D., have reached an agreement to air the first 10 games of the 2010 Summit League Basketball Championships. Midcontinent will televise and originate production for all four men's quarterfinal games, all four women's quarterfinals games and both women's semifinal games.

This is great news (even though I wouldn't miss going for the world). Anyone heard the rumor about Midcontinent showing all SDSU home games next year?

The Sioux Falls Sports Authority on Monday of this week was informed by Buffalo Wild Wings, that they were backing out of their participation in the tourney as one of the food sponsors. They are strongly encouraging team hosts and tourney fans to cancel any pre/post game meals and get togethers as they have left the SFSA in a bit of a bind. pass this along to all jacks fans.

Really? What the heck? What are we talking here. I have a real solid "in" w/ two local bars. One is the best sportsbar in town (7-10 in drive from Arena) and the other is only blocks from Arena. Both have ample space. Let me know what the SFSA wants. I could really try to throw something together for this.

Nutty's North is SDSU 'bar' headquarters for the tourney...same as last year. No need to throw anything together last minute. It'd make sense for all SDSU fans to congregate at one place....plus it'll be non-smoking.

That works. Nutty's North is one of the bars I was talking about. A friend of mine recently took the reigns as GM. I know they could use the business and would appreciate it. I'll see if I can get him to offer a special for Jacks fans.

            I'll be there!

What is BWW's reasoning for this? Because they don't agree with the games being televised?

Who knows? Maybe they think they can make their money off the more noodle-pated NDSU fans who will drive as far as Sioux Falls, but only go to Bison games.

All the Bizun fans will be heading back to Fargo after their first games anyway, so if I was BW3, I wouldn't be putting all my eggs in that basket.

If true I will glady participate in the boycott. I suspect it had nothing to do with the television issue. Perhaps the deal changed and an agreement couldn't be reached.

Nutty's North was great last year and will be fun again, I suspect they'll be a large crowd so get there early.

Economics probably played a role in it. You know dont go flying to Vegas in your corperate jet or sponser tournaments.

Maybe they are thinking with the closeness to the arena, they would still get customers without being a sponsor. I guess it's a risk they were willing to take.

                              Has this been confirmed?

Was looking forward to eating there, but if true the three of us will go elsewhere.
