The opening night for the women found Omaha trounced by Nebraska 88-48. (HC Banks is 37-72 in 4 seasons.) NDSU lost their home opener 84-78 to Drake. St Thomas won their home opener over Milwaukee 84-81. KC won at Utah St 80-77. KC plays Utah Valley tonight. The yotes lost in overtime to Saint Louis. There are more games against D1 opponents in the coming week.

Denver loses to D2 Colorado Christian...ouch.

NDSU put up a good fight against Drake. They lost a lot but I'd assume they and ORU will be our main threats in conference play. I thought USD's post transfer from Colorado would fill a big need for them but didn't even play. That doesn't bode well.

HC Woods is 37-76 in her first 4 years in Denver. Omaha & Denver seemed to have whiffed on these hires.

Agreed. The bottom of the conference continues to drag down our RPI and really hurt our seeding. Omaha didn’t even put up a fight against the Huskers. That game was over within the first few minutes.

KC managed 35 turnovers last night. The Roos could not handle any pressure. The shooting was 34.5% from the field, 0% from deep, and 52.6% from the line. Utah Valley wins 72-48. It does not look like HC Jackson-Durrett's third year will be improving on her 21-43 record. The 8th place preseason choice is accurate.

While the Jackrabbits hosted Creighton, there were 2 other Summit teams in action. The yotes traveled to Air Force. The yotes were defeated 73-66. UND hosted Eastern Illinois. The Fhawks won 66-63.

The weekend had some D1 games. Saturday Denver traveled to Saint Mary and the Pios lost 69-64. Sunday The Tommies went to Northern Illinois to post 75-68 for the visitors. NDSU hosted Eastern Illinois and the Bison win 65-56. Omaha hosted the WIU Leathernecks. The Leathernecks win 89-83 as Mavs turn over 20 times and fail to stop the 35 points by Leatherneck McCowan stud.

Tuesday D1 action for the women had Leathernecks notch another Summit win against KC 62-43 at Macomb.

Just to clarify, WIU is Ohio Valley, not Summit.

That is true. KC is the 2nd Summit team to lose to the Leathernecks within a few days. That is the situation. I apologize if sounded like WIU was a Summit team. Omaha lost to WIU on Sunday.

They have some serious problems down in Vermillion. The last two losses are to two very mediocre teams at best.

In the little that I've watched them, it seems like there just isn't much there other than Larkins. According to the Yotes board, they had a player play 22 minutes that had no stats. Zeros across the board in all of the offensive and defensive categories. Didn't even commit a foul. That almost has to be a record of some kind.

USD must be worse than last year. They just gave up 60 pts in a half albeit to Nebraska. I don’t get why Larkins stayed there. She’s their entire team.

Fighting Hawks are playing at Drake tonight. The first quarter is Drake leading 27-10. UND has burned 2 timeouts in the first quarter as well. Drake is 6/8 from the arc.
