I agree with 6-4-3, skip the game.

If Fenton and the Presidents from the southern schools choose Omaha or Tulsa, this tourney will rot. No one besides Jacks fan will be there.

Fenton needs to be honest with the UMKC, ORU, Denver, Omaha and St Thomas folks that; however much you hate the tourney, it's only making money in one spot.

It would be the dumbest decision by any conference (especially a mid major) ever. It time to take a stand. The SL needs to understand who butters their bread!
The corporate sponsorships that Sioux Falls kicks in are going to be tough to match in Omaha, with Creighton being the big brother basketball-wise.

Do you ever think this is all just posturing by the Summit League to suck every penny they can out of Sioux Falls? I'm at the point of letting it go for a couple of years and let the Summit come back to the SDSU fanbase with their tails between their legs. Enjoy the afternoon session Rabbits and once again skip tonight. The game is meaningless.....

          Go Rabbits!

            It could be!

I just think Sioux Falls has been a blessing to SDSU success and I am personally bias because it has been an annually event for me and my family!

I won’t be attending the championship tonight. Pointless game!

According to the talk around the Denny, the bids have been offered for the SLT to begin after next year(2026). I am guessing that there is not a public reveal of the bids. Fenton has been wanting an out of Sioux Falls to placate some whining voices about "home court" as seen by next year's allocation of tickets. The allocation had been done earlier and most tickets were returned by the other teams. Regular attendees have been asked to pay 2 or more years in advance to secure tickets. Lately the tickets were available in November early to those who attended the sessions the previous tournament. No one knew that the MBB Jackrabbits would be one and done in this year's SLT. We will see what the #1 & #2 seeds bring to town tonight for attendance. Fenton & the group who believe that there will be big influx of fans from other teams is doing poorly reading the tea leaves. (We also see only a few ORU fans appear to support #2 seed WBB Golden Eagles. Tickets were available to those fans in November for preseason top half pick.)

The past 16 SLT championship games had NDSU or SDSU participating in 14 of those. Many times it was against each other. There were a few where the #3 or #4 seed was attached to these teams, but normally #1 or #2 was attached to one of them. Once again, regular conference season has some influence on who reaches the seed and championship. It does not take lots of deductions to figure the order of the SLT is influenced by the successful teams from the regular season and results of the SLT. Then look at the support other teams have for the regular season and bring that information to the expected attendance at a venue near their home. The group looking for improving the SLT may be examining the information through some distortion if they believe income from the SLT will not suffer and attendance will be stable.

If I’m the Omaha coach today, my priority is not to win the game, but to avoid injuries. With the overall net of 170, they are all but guaranteed to be a 16 seed. A loss may help them get a play-in game (l know it’s officially called first round, but that ain’t fooling anybody).

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Omaha pull starters in a close game in the second half. The worst thing that could happen to them at this point might be to get a non- play-in 16 seed.

I understand the balance between money and other factors, but it feels like Fenton has really damaged the SLT.

Removed student sections - I know this is normally just a SDSU and USD thing, but Omaha had a nice group of student yesterday. Sadly, they didn’t have great seats…

Letting an ineligible team into the SLT - ruined the 2025 championship game

Changing ticket protocols - going to hurt attendance and atmosphere

Removal of the Summit League spirit competition - less dance/cheer teams and less league spirit

Can anyone think of anything positive he has done?

Totally agree, Fenton is useless. He let the southern school presidents have too much say.

Was going to post a similar post about Fenton yesterday, but deleted it. He should be fired if the tourney moves, attendance will plummet.

He's being mentioned as a possible MVFC commissioner, so you may not need to worry about firing him, although maybe he'll try to double dip like Patty Viverito.

I know this is a MBB topic, but here are some attendance numbers for Summit WBB

So the attendance for Big 10 WBB final was 8,358
For Big XII final - 5,084
For Summit League final - 8,417

The Summit League total attendance for WBB was 30,796.

Wednesday was a MBB and WBB so I split the attendance for that session.

Just saw Omaha's victory walk on YouTube. Crowd was worse than I expected and I wasn't expecting much. I'd think the turnout would hurt Omaha and St Thomas in their recruiting but also hurt SF in retaining the tournament. Scary for the conference's viability that it's tied to one team being consistently in the finals. This looks kind of like the crowds I see as I follow Lindenwood and the OVC. The four semifinalists should have stood up and driven in. Not that far for any of them.

The announced attendance was only about 900 less than the women's game. It looked like the crowd thinned out as the game went on. Likely lots of Jacks fans watched for awhile and then got an early start on the trip home.

Halftime involved many jackets in hand. It was good to see much of the Tommie contact to be called last night. They will need to work on the acting classes over the off season. Minnesale was due for a flagrant 1 after watching his play this year. Good luck to the Mavs as they enjoy the first trip to the Big Dance.
