  • WBB Summit League 2022-23

yotes will play Creighton tonight in Vermillion at 7pm. This game will be on Midco for a preview of this year's yote WBB.
Tomorrow night will have a heavy schedule against some better OOC opponents than the lower division schools often seen in the Summit team schedules..
Best to remember these are kids and they are doing everything they can to entertain us, be scholars, and all in all be great humans. Jackedforlife

The yotes had a tough shooting night as they shot 16-53 while finding 2-17 from the 3 pt line. They also had 15 turnovers to the Bluejays 7 TO. Larkins came out hot which drew much more defensive attention the 2nd quarter. Guebert was 1-9 in 37 minutes of play. They have several new faces on the floor as well as some formerly injured players that contribute. Larkin is currently a focus on offense. 74-51 final

Creightons tough physical defense played a big part I suspect .... 38% FG and an abysmal 12% from 3, on their home court and just about 2,400 in attendence.

Oral Roberts seems determined not to play any defense. To think they could average 102 ppg and still be 0-3…

Another poor 1st Qtr of scoring for W. Ill, now 2 games in a row that's happened.

Freshman sensation Mara Braun (27.5 PPG) was out for the Gophers. Still a big win for NDSU and bad loss for Minnesota. Whalen’s seat is very warm.

As a Gopher fan, I was optimistic that she was a good hire. But she has shown no indication she can coach, and a big part of that is the number of players she has run off. Which is worse than simply not being able to coach.

Are we seeing USD getting knocked out of what has forever been a very clear top-2 in Summit WBB?

They got smoked by both Santa Clara and Fordham (not exactly household names) this weekend. Meanwhile NDSU has wins over Minnesota, Montana, Boise St, N. Colorado. Thus far it looks like NDSU is the better team.

And it sounds like Grange, the grad transfer guard from Utah Valley who is their second leading scorer, may have suffered a knee injury.

The early word was an ACL. I am sure the prognosis will be next week when they see a specialist.
