Watching St. Thomas beat a 3-0 Troy team (who beat Florida St this week) makes it pretty clear they’re going to hand out a few losses to Summit teams this year - maybe in the tournament. They still need some hot shooting to do it, but they’re going to be a factor.

The OOC is drawing to a close as the first Summit games will happen on Monday and Wednesday. The current records are surprising.
            10. The Bison are 3-9 with a single D1 win over Portland. There some ranked teams played like Arkansas and Kansas. The Bison are 4th place pick in the preseason. There are new faces and a couple of injuries for OOC. Bisonville is likely calling for Richman's head at this time.
            9. The Roos are 4-9 with nearly a new team and a new coach. The Roos are averaging 64 points and 16 turnovers. They do have wins over Lindenwood, Indiana St, and Toledo. The Roos were the 6th place pick of preseason poll.
            8. The Mavs are 4-8 through the OOC. La Monroe, Idaho, & Southern are among the wins. Fielder is still on the squad. The new coach is an alum. Preseason 9th.
            7. Jackrabbits 5-7 Preseason 2nd
            6. yotes 5-7 record includes a big win over BYU. There seems to be plenty of guard talent in Vermillion with 1 power forward/post. We will see if Coach Peterson makes it back to the bench for the opening of conference after an accident. The yotes were preseason 3rd place choiice.
            5. UND is 6-7. They have had some wins over lower division teams & Utah Tech, Incarnate Word, and Cal State Fullerton. They lost point guard Paul Bruns to the yotes in the portal. Danielson is back with freshman Omot contributing. The FHawks were the 10 place choice in the preseason poll.
            4. WIU is 6-4. As Massner goes, so go the Leathernecks. Massner had an injury early which hurt WIU. There are more new faces on the roster as Jeter tries to not have the conference letdown suffered by the Leathernecks after an impressive OOC in 2021-22. WIU was 7th place choice in the preseason poll.
            3. The Tommies are 9-4. The Tommies lost to Creighton by 8, Montana, Utah, & Montana St. The wins are not all D1, but they scheduled wisely for the record. Green Bay, Chicago St, & Milwaukee are among the wins. Miller is a senior guard that shoots from anywhere. The Tommies hope to finish higher than the 8th preseason choice.
            2. The Golden Eagles are 8-3. The 3 losses include St Mary, Houston, & Utah St. Houston was a blowout while the other 2 were close. Half of the wins are lower division. They also have Mo State to play yet tonight. ORU certainly has plenty of talent on the roster.
            1. Denver Pioneers are 9-3. Denver could be the international team of the Summit as 6 players come from overseas. Coach Wulbrun has been a big step up for the Pios as the head coach. The Pios losses were to UCLA and 2 losses to Sac St. The large story for Denver is 6'5" G Tevin Smith who has been injured. Denver was preseason #5 choice.

ORU beats Mo State 80-77. Abmas plays 40 minutes to score 23. Vanover(7'5" C) played 27 minutes for 19 points & 8 boards. Vanover shot 5-8 FG and 8-9 FT with 1 3pointer. ORU shot 56%. I hope Charlie is ready to play Monday!.

Summit MBB heading down the stretch.

                  1. ORU 12-0
                  2. SDSU 9-4
                  3. WIU 8-5
                  4. STU 7-6
                  T5. KC 6-6 & NDSU 6-6
                  7. USD 6-7
                  8. Denver 4-9
                  9. Omaha 3-10
                  10. UND 2-10

ORU will give WIU, STU, SDSU, & USD a chance to get a bump on the seeds on those 4 road games. They also host the ND schools in Tulsa down the stretch. It is unlikely 2 of those teams will blemish ORU. It would be an upset if 1 team puts a loss to ORU. The MBB has a tight race 2-7 and Denver could give any team a loss down the stretch even though they appear headed for Friday's game at the SLT. Parity has this race in a jumble with 3 weeks left. The Jackrabbits need to win the home games and half of the road games for a solid chance a 2 seed.

I prefer we stay in the opposite bracket of ORU and NDSU. Seed 2 or 3 really doesn't matter.

Agree completely with this. We don't match up super well with NDSU and ORU is really good. Beating both would be a tall task in Sioux Falls.

Have to disagree, a 3 seed means potentially 3 games back to back, where as a 2 means a day of rest before semis, something this team will most certainly need

I agree that we should strive for the 2 seed, regardless of whether that pits us against NDSU in the second game. ORU has the 1 seed pretty much locked up. With the Jacks' short bench, getting a day off during the tourney would be big benefit.
                          This space for lease.

Another perk this year: The 2-seed gets to open up against a team that had to play Friday night.

Us at the 2 and NDSU 4/5/6 is what I’d prefer.

It's about matchups. We do not match up well with ndsu. These kids are young I think the number of games back to back are overrated. If they were old like me then it would be a big issue.

Under 13 at St Paul has the Tommies start fast leading ORU 21-14. 2nd half finds KC & WIU neck and neck.
