I doubt they hire Matt Wilbur, an NAIA coach. Great coach and has had success at DWU but doubt that happens.

Nothing shows that you want to build a long-term program with 18 -22 year old players more than hiring a 65 year old coach.

Poster on the Yote board says they are bringing in Eric Peterson who is likely to get an offer. Which makes sense if they are going to the hire an up-and-coming assistant route, since he has a history with the program. Same poster says there may be a wrongful termination lawsuit coming as a result of the firing.

Interesting. Assuming they don’t get a “big name” hire like Ryan Miller or someone else I am more interested in the situation for AJ and Bruns. I wonder what AJ thinks about this? Is he loyal enough to USD to not look at any other options? I wonder if Dawn is heading out other options?

I think Asst Coach Peterson from Utah would be a good hire for them.

I know nothing about Coach Lee's off court behaviors/issues that people have mentioned, so if anyone wants to DM me on that, I'm curious.

I thought Coach Lee did a pretty good job. I certainly respected his teams. What they did this year was extra impressive. I thought they'd be a bottom 3 team, and they were quite good, with not a lot of talent.

I do find reading the USD board delicious, seeing the people who just 2 weeks ago thought he was the "cats pajamas" throwing him under the bus as a terrible recruiter and horrible person.

Someone mentioned Lee's family tweeting back about an unfair firing, but I guess I didn't see those.

I honestly don't know the guy from adam. But I certainly respected his coaching ability between the lines.

Going to be interesting, to see how this affects their roster. I think AJ will stay, his Mom is there after all.

USD will name Eric Peterson head coach tomorrow. It's always a risk when you hire someone with no head coaching experience. It is with Peterson, just as it was with Hendo. But if going that route, it makes sense to hire someone who has worked with the program.
