Zimmer has an article in Argus today outlining the teams. Today is the opening for all teams not named the Jackrabbits. UMKC McKissic, leading scorer, seems to have changed his mind about entering the portal and playing as a Roo this season.
Best to remember these are kids and they are doing everything they can to entertain us, be scholars, and all in all be great humans. Jackedforlife

Definitely a recent change, as report in addition to Zim's had McKissic requesting (via tweet he's apparently deleted) that his decision to transfer be respected

        Bully for him.

Curious if Coach Donlon would reciprocate given McKissic's schizoid tweets.

Omaha loses to ORU convincingly in Omaha. Denver is rolled by the Yotes. WIU loses big at home to the Bison. The Fighting Hawks come out on top of the Roos in a somewhat ugly game in Grand Forks. Day 2 of the doubleheaders will give some insight to the coaching and talent.

The Yotes might be jelling but DU must be terrible.

There was a big surprise in Tulsa. 72-71 win by the Fighting Hawks over Eagles. Sather put together a game plan on the road. Yotes squeak by Roos 66-64. Bison kept it interesting to the end with 71-69 win over Mavs. We will see how the scores are tomorrow after tight games.

Pioneers played hard today. They could not get over the hump in 2nd half. Golden Eagles edge Denver 88-84 in Denver.

                  USD 4-0
                  SDSU 2-0
                  ORU 5-1
                  NDSU 5-1
                  UND 3-3
                  UMKC 1-3
                  WIU 0-4
                  UNO 0-4
                  DU 0-4
Omaha starting at 0-4 and Yotes at 4-0 may be the big surprises at this point. Hopefully the games do not get too many cancelled due to covid.

Since the Summit League didn't put an open weekend at the end of the regular season to allow for make-up games, shouldn't the team that caused the cancellations have to forfeit the games ? I'm guessing ties between teams with the same number of losses would be broken by winning %,so the Jacks would be at a disadvantage by having games canceled.

A potential consequence of that would be increased propensity for teams to relax testing protocols to avoid forfeiting. It'd be different if the league were independently testing.

I'm sure they have something planned in the event of ties at the end of the season. The forfeit idea sounds like a punishment to a team for something out of their control. If the Jacks were out a couple weeks because a couple players were sick would you like the idea of them taking 4 losses? What if the team that got 2 wins from forfeits put them ahead of another team at the bottom? Would they deserve that 8 seed just because they didn't have covid?

Nod your head to this Jackrabbits!

It would be a good idea to make that known before they need to use it. Other than winning %, it's hard to imagine what they could use. If NDSU goes 13-3 and the Jacks are 11-3, I would be upset if the inability to play the two Omaha games cost them the opportunity to be the # 1 seed.

They should have come up with a point system before the season started.

The top 4 teams sweep the games this weekend. There were a couple of close games, but USD, SDSU, ORU, & NDSU stay in the top half and extend the distance to rest of the conference mates. February will match these teams.
