Best case scenario for the Jacks if they don't get the #1 seed (IMO)

1. IPFW
2. SDSU
3. IUPUI
4. Omaha
5. NDSU

That way, Jacks face USD/Denver/ORU in the first round and IUPUI in the semis.

Going through Omaha AND FW would be tough.

I'm still not convinced, however, that IPFW won't lose 1 on the road next week.

I would not expect too much change at the end of the season even if IUPUI sweeps Jacks and Yotes next week. The NDSU-IPFW game could determine who stays home from the tournament.

If that same WIU team that showed up against the Jacks yesterday, their game against IPFW will be over by halftime. I want to see the upset (for obvious reasons), but I don't think it will happen.

IUPUI women defeat IPFW 63-52.

The Jags (10-4) final 2 games are in Indy against the SoDak schools.

IUPUI could fall to 4th in the standings and be on the the same side of the bracket as usd. ORU would then be the 3rd seed since they hold the tie-breaker over IUPUI with the win against the yotes.

ORU's last game of the regular season is against UNO on the 25th.

Right now the bracket would be:

1. USD vs 8. NDSU
4. ORU vs 5. WIU

2. SDSU vs 7. Denver
3. IUPUI vs. 6. UNO

I wouldn't mind see IUPUI on the other side of the bracket.

IPFW beats Omaha 94-90. IPFW clinches a top 2 seed; Omaha is 9-6 in league. They can't finish ahead of Jacks due to Jacks win over IPFW.

Correct but NDSU and IUPUI can if they win out as NDSU would sweep regular season and IUPUI would have beat FW twice. Seems unlikely but it is in the cards.

Every game is the biggest game of the year and a must win for this Jackrabbit team right now. You could argue after a win Thursday and a FW win that the ORU game is meaningless and then I'd have to agree.

Not intended as smack, but this cannot be how USD wanted their final season in the Dome to go. I would think a season like this makes it harder to build enthusiasm and sell tickets for their new arena.

FWIW, here is my prediction for the rest of the summit league games:

IPFW beats WIU and loses to IUPUI
SDSU beats NDSU and ORU
Omaha beats ORU
IUPUI beats USD and IPFW
NDSU loses to SDSU and beats Denver
ORU loses to Omaha and SDSU
Denver loses to NDSU
USD loses to IUPUI and beats WIU
WIU loses to IPFW and USD

The standings would look like this:

1t. IPFW 12-4
1t. SDSU 12-4
3t. IUPUI 10-6
3t. Omaha 10-6
5. NDSU 9-7
6t. ORU 6-10
6t. Denver 6-10
8. USD 5-11
9. WIU 2-14

Using the tie breaking procedure, it would come down to RPI between SDSU and IPFW due to their tied head to head record (1-1), and tied collective record against Omaha and IUPUI (2-2), and since SDSU has a higher RPI, we would get the #1 seed (and the auto bid to the NIT I believe). The seeding for the tournament would shake out like this:

1. SDSU
2. IPFW
3. IUPUI
4. Omaha
5. NDSU
6. ORU
7. Denver
8. USD

So the matchups would be:

SDSU-USD and Omaha-NDSU one one side

IPFW-Denver and IUPUI-ORU on the other side

Looks like a tough bracket, but with the parity in the league in the top 5 especially, there aren't going to be any easy draws.

Probably won't end up like this, but I thought I would take a crack at it with only a couple games left.
