Kory Brown went down with an knee injury against Idaho State. It's sounding like he will be out for the foreseeable future. Big blow to the Bison with conference season right around the corner.

Yes, they were sneaking by winning close games against mediocre competition with him. Brown is a senior leader on a young team and an excellent defender. I don't see the Bison sliding too far, thanks to their style of play, coaching and young talent, but their road gets a lot tougher if Brown misses a bunch of Summit games.

Tonight's biggest OOC game is probably USD (men) vs UNLV (8-4 with an RPI of 87). That's a very tough road game but one USD could pull off if they are really sharp.

USD is in the biggest game of the night on the women's side. They travel to 7-2 Illinois (RPI 29).

Are they still running that boring ass dribble weave offense and using 29 seconds of shot clock per possession?

The one that beat us the summit toury last year? Probably. The little blips I watched of them on midco, they dont seem to have the depth but have decent enough talent.....Like Werner somehow.

The big difference is they don't have the conference POY to take over when the shot clock is running out.

I just don't see the bison as much better than middle of the pack with or without Brown. Very curious to see Oral Roberts though. Seems they'll be the main competition for the title.

Not sure the Bison were very good with Brown. They've barely beat some really bad teams (Southern Miss, Ark St, Idaho St)...

The Bison play everyone close whether it is Iowa St or Idaho St. It goes with the style of play. That style of play has shown it can win in Sioux Falls when it matters. Also, watch out for Paul Miller he is second leading scorer in conference at 17.5 ppg and only a Sophomore.

I think that goes towards the style of basketball they play. They aren't a team that is going to blow people out. It might not be pretty to watch but it gets the job done. They were the same way last year. The only big difference this year is that they don't have LA to bail them out. AJ will need to step up if the Bison want to win another Summit title. Paul Miller can take over a game if his 3 point shooting is on.

yeah, he is the guy I think after watching last year you could tell he was going to be good. but can Miller and Werner carry the team?

They also have AJ Jacobson. Werner is more of a role player. Averages 23 minutes a game. Their top guys (Miller and Jacobson) are averaging 30+.

Thought I was forgetting someone. I havent really paid close attention to the roster besides knowing LA is gone.

I wouldn't call a 20 point loss to Iowa St close...

NDSU was still within five at 61-56 with 8:47 remaining when the Cyclones went on an 11-0 run to put the game out of reach

Cyclones went on a run with superior talent and put the game away. Similar to the 3 NCAA tourney games the Bison have lost to KU, San Diego St & Gonzaga. The best part of Bison basketball is they are the underdog and it is more fun to watch.
