Do the Bison have any scholarships open for next season?

Two scholarships are open right now.

We have a few offers out, one to a big from Sioux City.

Sounds like at least one assistant, Will Ryan will follow Saul to Ohio.

What an Interesting time to be the AD up there. The big-3 sports all in need of a new leader within 3 months. Lots of unknowns about NDSU for the next few years, but I'm sure they'll nail it on at least one of those hirings.

Geez...3 day turnaround for Ohio. Christian resigned on April 3. Philips named HC today. Guess they really like Saul.

Those 3 days might have represented months of research including background. I don't know nothing about the situation at OU, but apparently though a public research university, the state of Ohio does not have the same laws as SD has on the books were you have to advertise the job and open it to a national search. I lived in Ohio years ago. I do know Athens is off the beaten path a bit and much milder winters than Fargo. Also he joins Frank Solich, former Nebraska coach and grew who run the football program.

Congrats to Saul. He's a good coach, and seems like a great guy.

Also selfishly, I'm glad he's out of our conference. If I'm Jasick I run, not walk for that Jacksonville job. I don't see IPFW being a great job.

I thought that it was interesting that USD was going to have to find a new head coach for the big-3 sports in the matter of 2 years(?) and NDSU has to do it all in one. It could be really interesting to see in about 3 years which one of those two schools made the best hires and how they stack up against the coaches at SDSU who have been here for about 15 years each.

I HOPE we still have a set of long-term coaches in three years, but it's clearly hard to count on that. This year has been crazy. A year ago the thought of Saul getting offered a multi-million dollar contract elsewhere would have seemed nuts. He had one great recruiting class and used it as a launching pad before starting over. Nagy interviewed for the Ball St. job a year or two ago. AJ could move on to any of a number of jobs at any time, and I have a feeling the teams he is going to put on the court the next couple years will only raise his value.

No question. If he can parlay one decent year out of 3 into a head job in florida, ya got to grab it.

IPFW needs to step up and pay Jasick what he deserves. $93k isn't going to cut it at all at the DI level.

93K. That's crazy. If the Summit wants to continue to get more respect IPFW needs to step up (As well as the rest of the league).

If I were NDSU I would try and hire jasak ASAP.

Jasick may be too heavy on JUCO talent to fit in Fargo. Or maybe he felt that was the route to take for a quick exit from Ft Wayne.

I think you hit it on the head. He went after the Juco's...because he needed them. He'll do well in Jax, is my guess.
