Wonder who they have installing the outside panels? I'm sure the city of Sioux Falls would be glad to provide them with references, since they've just completed a brand new Arena themselves. [sarcasm]*
This is the result when you use a little oversight and monitor the construction process,a very nice and defect free looking exterior, one you'd be proud to display in front of the camera. Are you paying attention,City of Sioux Falls?

Oddly the same contractor is doing the metal panels on the "new Metrodome" and if look close the same problem is there, on a flat surface.
Are you referring to the Black/dark gray panels on the new stadium? If you look at the stadium renderings, those panels are intentionally supposed to look "rippled"
Yes, but in the middle of the panels there is puckering/billowing. That's what I'm referring to, not the effect the tiling is designed to create. It's pronounced where the metal panels meet any trim and not other panels.
When I look at the renderings, that's the look I think they are trying to create. The panels don't look flat to me on the renderings, they look like they have waviness to them.

I might have to go up there again I'll get pics if I can. If anybody designed purposefully what I'm describing its a dammed Shame.
Not trying to argue with you, just difference in opinion maybe. I'll be in downtown Minneapolis this weekend and I'll try and get a good look at what you are talking about. Probably easier to tell in person than from webcam pics.
hopefully the next round of renovations fixes these problems. I am skeptical it will.
Relax. Plans are underway to remodel Frost. If everything falls into place, and I think it will, the Regents will be asked to OK a renovated Frost next fall. The entire upper area (track and bleachers) will come out and chair seats (with good sight lines!) will bowl it all in as I understand it. Suites will be included on the south side above the seating area. The project will also include an extension of the building to the south, where there would be two practice courts. Improved restrooms, concessions etc. would be included. Seating will be in the range of 6,000. I doubt anything we have to say on the board will influence the design...but I guess you can always dream. P. S. Donations to the project are welcome.

Hard to know if Goon is relaxed or not, his post that you're quoting is over 1 1/2 years old.

Thanks for the update. I have wondered what they were going to do with the old indoor track area now that it isn't necessary. Very exciting time.
