Between the men's NCAA's and the state tourney, I think it is going to be hard to crack 2k.
Also I'm sure it's not getting near the media attention that SDSU's WNIT appearances did. With both SDSU's teams in their respective NCAA tourney's I would guess a lot of the Argus' attention has been focus that way.

It's unfortunate for USD because their women's team definitely deserves better. They are good.

And how much they lose, I think they can still be a good team, but with out Hegge, I think they are gonig to struggle scoring next year. I could and am probably wrong but I think it could a tough year for USD next year. But with out ORU that helps also. It should be a really wide open year next year in the summit. I think 4 teams will probably rise to the top of a pretty even league.

No doubt the Yotes are losing alot after this season. Alot of things will need to come together to be a top tier Summit team, but I believe it can be done if the newest members can gel. You may not be aware, but the Yotes have a JUCO 6'2" (1st team All-American first year) coming that has averaged about 19ppg and 13rpg the last two years. Also, the captain of the Australian U20 team was practicing with the Yotes all season as she was considered a transfer. From the accounts I have heard, she would have been a top contributor this season if eligible. Freshmen Kelly Stewart was getting the majority of the minutes off the bench at the end of the season and showed glimpses of being go-to player. A big key is how Heidi Hoff transitions to the collegiate game after HS. Everybody is always optimistic at the beginning of a season, but the potential is there to be a solid Summit team.

I agree, but you lose 3 key peices and Hegge was huge part of that offense, but if the new people step up and Hoff will proabbly need to contribute because USD IMO had a pretty short bench so they need 3 or 4 key new players to fill in IMO.

USD recruit, Watertown's Tia Hemiller has the potential to contribute as a freshman. I suspect when she plays with bigger faster people, she'll be impressive.

USD will have parts to work with but will be a work in progress. thats why I think they will be a top half of the league team. I feel SDSU maybe Oakland, even IUPUI could rise up the standings and USD could be good again. I still dont hold out much hope for the men unless they bring in some awesome transfers and recruits who can be better then the 2 super guys they lost.

good Luck USD, hope the fans enjoy it as much as I did when we were in the WNIT.

I don't disagree Hegge is not replaced easily but the Yotes, as stated above, do have some talent coming in. A Juco all american, Mccloud and Hoff. Seekamp, who had to sit out this year, but practiced with the team, is an absolute beast at guard. SDSU had the same situation with Vogel. New players stepped forward and continued the excellence.

It is good to have talent coming in,but it usually takes time for things to come together. You only need to look at the Jacks men - Nate,Jordan and company needed a full season plus of working together before putting it together during the last half of this season. I don't remember which famous coach said that the best thing about freshmen is that next year they'll be sophomores, but that is usually true. Expecting freshman and transfers to be major contributors from the get-go is risky. It can work, but more often than not,it takes time.
