    Re: Oakland v texas

Not the worst matchup for the Grizzlies, but not great either. Big East teams would be worse, but like said before, a BYU matchup would have run with them neck and neck. Even one of those SEC teams in the 3-5 range would have been a decent matchup for the Grizzlies. Some talk last night how Texas got jobbed once on getting a 4 seed and then again on drawing OU as an opponent.

Texas has the Big 12 defensive player of the year in one of their guards. Bad deal for OU. Hamilton needs his space and drive and if he's got a power conference defensive POY on him, that doesn't bode well. OU should matchup head to head down low well. They need to keep Texas from driving and getting Benson in foul trouble and hope Texas is off on their shot and OU can rip boards.

Texas is around a 10 point favorite. Too much. This game should stay within 10 and if Bader can not feel the pressure as a freshman in the Dance, he should get the looks to put OU into the next round.

I'm kind of irritated this game is early Friday. I'm really interested to watch this game and this rotten thing called work is really cramping the ability to catch it.

Would a 1st round loss be a "death-blow" to Barnes's days at UT??? Didn't even realize UT has been this bad in the tournament.

on Fox 2 Detroit they have a computer generated simulator call Sly Fox by Accuscore. Just now when I did it, it has Oakland going to the Final Four with upsets over Texas, Arizona, Michigan and Cincinnati.

                Re: Oakland v texas

One #4 goes down (Louisville can go #$%^ themselves by blowing my bracket up) and a second takes a last second shot to advance (Kentucky).

                Be on upset alert Texas.

FWIW I picked Texas to go to the Final Four. That way if they win I'll be happy for them and if Oakland wins and completely bombs my bracket there's a silver lining.

Go OU. Even though a tournament win(s) will likely boost their recruiting even more, I sincerely hope they advance.

                  Re: Oakland v texas

I picked Oakland to win. 2 games actually.

I'm probably wrong, and was just drinking the summit league koolaid.

Texas is actually a pretty darn tough matchup for them. A couple of good bigs to battle with Benson, and very athletic Guards.

On the bright side: Texas hasn't played well down the stretch, and Rick Barnes has done HORRIBLE in the tournament.

                    Re: Oakland v texas

Benson blows against real teams on D. No wonder he never manned up on Dykstra. Oakland is protecting him in a zone.

I know he is a great player for the SL but he is going to get eaten alive in the NBA.

                    And yes, I'm still bitter

Texas 46, OU 38 at half. TX shooting 59% FG and 2/3 in 3's. Oakland at 45% for game & 4-12 from the arch. Griz trying to win from outside.

This. Maybe Bader and Valentine can keep them in the game by bombing some 3's.

I picked Morehead and Richmond, lucky guesses.

Benson won't make it at the next level.

OU can't stop TX and therefore will not win. I think the Jacks would have given them a better game. Maybe next year......
