Which leads everyone to believe that Fullerton sees the writing on the wall and the league can't count on the Montana schools to be around in 2012.
This kind of sounds like the process that occurred when USD decided they HAD to move to DI after they previously decided it would be foolish to leave DII.

Its a little sad to see the way Montana threw its weight around to keep the conference soft and now they intend to leave it altogether. Must be a bunch of a-holes in the administration at Montana and a bunch of sissies running the BSC.

Montana's president is a former USD administrator
        University of South Dakota:
Oldest university of the Dakotas; Home of S.D.'s only accredited law, medical and business schools; S.D.'s designated liberal arts institution; National scholars galore; Alma mater of 10 S.D. governors, 20 members of Congress, all sitting S.D. Supreme Ct. justices and 1/2 of all S.D. physicians; Warmer than Brookings; Where JackMD received his advanced degree!

I don't get it. Are you saying you agree with JackMD's assessment?

            Denver? Eastern Illinois?
Who would be a good fit for ORU? Oakland?

Denver wants a WAC invite and will likely get one.

Question. What is the full group of sports required for BSC members?

I never have understood that. The WAC is looking for football schools and yet I see Denver and Seattle listed as possible additions. Not sure what they bring to the table for the WAC. Is the WAC that desparate that they are willing to add anyone?

Subtracting SUU and Centenary from the League should improve our basketball RPI, as both of those teams stink at Basketball.

I think they are that desperate. Hawaii and Utah State are both looking at their options and to date Montana has not said ya or nay.

As well as help out with travel costs as both schools were outside the desired "footprint".

They don't sponsor as many sports as the Summit.

Check out the website for more info.

To me something doesn't add up. Why would the BSC want to expand to 12 teams if they feel stable with their current membership? Adding SUU makes sense geographically, but why come to the Dakotas now?

How about SIU-Edwardsville? They would be an option.

Now i understand why Montana has not made the move to the WAC, they believe that they cannot succeed at the next level. Was Dr. Engstrom part of the committee that kept USD at DII because of fear?

In my opinion Montana should go to the WAC, they could easily become the next Boise State.

My $0.02 on the subject....the Big Sky thinks both Montana schools are going to the WAC soon. Rumor is that they'll be invited to join the WAC in November.

Boise State's gate is only $300k higher than Montana's. That's something they're thinking long and hard about.
