They are spoiled. In his 5 years, they win 2 championships, take a 2nd place, survive the covid year which many NDSU folks say doesn't count anyway and they are currently in the semi's with a team that was absolutely gutted by the portal last year. Seems to me that he is doing a great job.
One hand points to campus...the other to the liquor store.

He HAS done a great job. However, when "the statement is the standard", there's no where to go but down. It would get exhausting to deal with meathead fans who think anything less than an undefeated season and annual title is a failure - especially with NIL and the portal.

Rumor is that Tim Polasek will be the next NDSU head coach.

Also rumors of their AD moving on…

As strong as the players came out wanting Roehl, it will be interesting to see who hits the portal in the next few days. And how many commits they lose with signing day coming up on Wednesday.

Polasek it is. What happens to staff? What happens to players? Commits? Next few days will be interesting in North Fargo.

NDSU OC Tyler Roehl is heading to Tennessee State for the same position. Probably upset he didn’t get the HC job, will be interesting to see how Bison players react, seemed like he was popular.

It seems like a weird landing spot but not surprised by how all of this played out. Polasek in one of his first news conferences when asked noted that T.R. was the O.C. "at this time" or something to that effect. He subtly hinted that T.R. would leave but elevated him to Assistant H.C. in the meantime. By all accounts, T.R. bleeds green and gold. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if T.R. knew he was on his way out the door but stuck around long enough to keep their big names in house, keep the recruiting class together and prevent all out mutiny in the football building in north Fargo. T.R. wanted that job, the players wanted him to have that job but admin thought there were better candidates. I'm sure he'll be back before long. Either Polasek gets the Bison back on track and heads off for bigger and better things, or they are stuck where they are at for a few years and he's shown the door. Then T.R. returns to the fold with outside perspective that he lacked this time around.

UND really has to be feeling like the little brother. They hire Jake Landry, a UND alum, away from St. Thomas to be their new OC. Now a week later, NDSU moves in and poaches Landry to be their OC. So in just over two weeks they lose two OC's to rival programs - Freund to the Jacks and Landry to the Bison.

I didn't realize Landry and Polasek coached together at NIU

Sounds like NDSU couldn’t afford a job search outside of North Dakota.

Seems like a win-win for us. Either he sucks and they fire him after 2 years or he jumps at the first FBS job he gets a call for
