Is this the movie about the Texas school who had a predominately black team in the mid 1960's that won the NCAA championship? If this is the one, I thought the casting of Adolph Rupp was great. Jon Voigt seems to really do parts from the deep south very good and with passion. He also was the cocky lawyer in John Grishams Rainmaker, another part played well.

Many lazy afternoons in college spent watching Hoosiers and quoting nearly every line. I've got it DVR'd now. Love Bull Durham as well but for different reasons. Sandlot probably isn't considered a sports movie but it is a must see for everyone, especially if you have kids to watch it with.

A few that would be included on my list that aren't mentioned.

        White Man Can't Jump
        Caddyshack
        King Pin
        The Fighter

White Men Can't Jump is really good. Forgot about that.

          And the Fighter is unbelievable.

Baseball movie in my book! And a great one at that.

I agree Reeves acting was poor in The Replacements and generally I can't stand him as an actor -- BUT, he was perfect in one flick: Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure (I think they cast Reeves and his sidekick first, added George Carlin, and then wrote the "screenplay"). The poor acting by Reeves in The Replacements could be forgiven because Brooke Langdon was cast as his romance interest.

A couple more good baseball movies; The Rookie and Eight Men Out.

I don't know if Disney did all the following movies, but they had a string of them in the past 5-6 years that I really enjoy watching.

Miracle - Kurt Russell did an amazing job as Herb Brooks. If you can watch that entire film and not get chills, you are Russian or something.

We are Marshall - Nice cast, again a fact based story - but inspiring and enjoyable.

Invincible - Marky Mark getting it on as the local kid, makes good to make the Eagles.

The Rookie - Dennis Quaid in the story of Jimmy Morris.

Granted - all of the above are more non-fiction, than sports movies, but I enjoyed each of them.

Lastly, "you're killing me Smalls"! The Sandlot may be more entertainment than sports - but all are enjoyable in my estimation. Carry on...

Nope. Big omission there, too. My original list is getting holes blown thru it, kinda like the D-Dome on a windy day...

                        Reaves as a stoner with a two-six-pack IQ isn't acting. It's Reaves.
