    Re: Coyote Athletics

I understand the attacking and smearing of USD throughout your thread here, that's what fans do. I even liked the picture of Coyote Athletics and the picture of your program...that was a classic. But what amazes me the most is the reason you have for not playing USD in football or basketball.

Are you so naive to believe your fan base would prefer to play Georgia Southern or Cal-Poly as to USD? There would be only one word that would fit for those that say that.....FEAR. The fear of getting your bunnytails handed to you by your rival to the south.

You talk of all these great things, and what you have done, but I am now going to lean on your fan base to help me remember the last Jackrabbit team (mens) that made the playoffs in football or basketball? I am sure you have, but I just can't remember when. Holy cow, your football team got annialated by Iowa State, and Iowa State is pathetic. Your football team took a pounding at UNI, and the Coyotes dang near pulled that one out of the hat.

The truth of the matter is, if you really thought you could pound USD into oblivion, there is no doubt you would do it. And love it. The fact remains is you can't, and won't, because your school colors depict your backbone...YELLOW. CAS field sucks and you know it. Talk about a glorified high school facility.

Bottom line is this. You don't want to play USD because you have been in D-I longer, and the thought of of the Coyotes laying a good 'ol fashioned pasting on you is something you couldn't deal with.

I got new for ya all. You aren't that good. In football, basketball, or anything else for that matter. Your womens basketball team deserves alot of love, and I'll give you that. But other than that, this Coyote fan truly believes you don't have the stones to line up against USD in a major mens sport. I might be wrong, but I don't think so.

We had one. Satisfied? But again you make my case. Instead of answering the the tough question of "Should we play USD in football?" you change the subject.

Had we played SDSU, then we may have had 2 wins against FCS opponents. As I stated earlier, you aren't that good. You aren't bad, you just aren't that good.

The only way I know of to stop the "my dad can beat up your dad" argument is to put the two dads in a ring. Put your beloved Bunnies on the field against the Coyotes and let those kids decide whose better. That's all I am saying. Again I will say, if you truly thought you could crush the Coyotes and humilite them, you would.

You just don't get it. It has been well documented here. It has nothing to do with anything on the field.

You sound like a little kid that is upset because the big boys on the street won't play with you. Take your ball down the street and play with the little kids, OK. Heck you had teams in your own football conference that did not want to play you this year. Explain to me why UC Davis refused to play USD in football this year and why did Cal Poly refused to play UND? Answer that question and will begin to understand why playing USD has no benefit for SDSU.

You are delusional. I am not even talking smack. Goodness I feel bad for you and your struggle with your inferiority complex. udot measures its success by comparing itself to SDSU rather than doing what is best for its program. We don't play you because you are a non-counter. Also we don't play we you because our schedule is done until 2012. Those are facts. Sorry. And I hate to tell you, we would probably beat you by 20 points in football this year. Mens basketball would be a game. Womens basketball, you better run for the hills. Keep in mind they don't have a mercy rule or anything.

                    Re: Coyote Athletics

Well, to get the best games possible and toughest compition it would pretty much be anybody but USD. Here is another yote fan with no reason why we should play but thinks we should be cause they know this rivalry is dead for most of us and its the only thing keeping that program alive. I don't know why they want to get another lose handed to um from us but if that is what is eventually going to happen, so be it. Why not play NDSU again and have 3 losses against the north dakota schools and against us. Just like it use to be. I guess thats what your more familiar with anyways. USD is not looking to make gains on its own by playing teams it should beat, besides NAIA and weak D-2 schools. Just wants to piggy back off of us to get a big game.

We're ready to take on the Yotes - How about Baseball? Wrestling?

Football, let us know when you're willing to PAY to come to Brookings for a game. Lot cheaper than going to Virginia for a NON-COUNTER game. Basketball - COME UP TO FROST, make your arrangements now for next year. You'd make a good warm up game for early Nov. The important issue is have your AD arrange with our AD WHEN YOU'RE READY TO PLAY IN BROOKINGS. Jacks don't need no USeD laundry. But USeD sure wants the Jacks.

Jacks have served our time in transition. Welcome to purgatory Yoteforever!

Delusional? Hardly. I have absolutely no inferiority complex. If I did, I wouldn't post here.

You talk about doing whats best for the program. Fair question. Let me see. Football home and home games would provide how much revenue for each school? Using your numbers, CAS holds 17,000 for football. I don't think you could put a $50/ticket price on it, but I think $25 would work. If you remove the student portion of the capicity (3000), then you hve 14,000 people paying $25/ticket. That is $350,000. Weigh that versus a trip to Nagodoches, Texas at an expense of $50,000, and what you have is a $400,000 swing. Now add back in corporate sponsorships, awards, naming rights, and there is an income potential of $500,000. In fact one of your posters came up with a plan as such.

We are a non-counter this year, so this year your argument holds water. After that, it is another excuse. Scheduling conflicts through 2012 is probably valid, so 2013 becomes the first year it could theoretically happen. Basketball is simpler, schedules are done one year in advance. My guess is your coach wouldn't want to play us either, because as he sees it, there isn't any upside because it is highly likely we would beat you. But that to is debateable. Your football team 20 point winners in '08? Who is delusional? Personally speaking, I think we beat you at the Dome, and you probably win in CAS. Womens basketball, this year I give it to you. Volleyball, we kick the crap out of you. Track and field, cross country, etc....USD hands down.

Personally speaking, I don't care if we ever play you again. You aren't that good, and for that matter, we aren't either. Neither of us are contenders in FCS playoffs yet. My whole point in raising the issue is that you really don't want to play us for the fear of getting beat. That's it. It's ok to admit it. But that is your fear. Because as one of your fans pointed out, there are 500,000 reasons for doing it and all those reasons begin with a $. As both schools go to the state for money to make these programs fly, if our legislators had a brain, they would say.."why do you refuse to play the in-state school that would provide the largest dollars of revenue year in and year out?" Before we give either school any money, you will play each other.

Lastly, quite frankly I am not a SDSU hater. Quite the opposite. I do cheer for them when they play anyone but USD. I am rare in that regard, I understand that. But what is best for the state of South Dakota is to have two teams be contenders. Your program has done many things correct. They have done somethings wrong, but that would happen anywhere. But if you are honest with yourself, you have to admit your biggest fear is having all this BIG TALK, then finally having to play USD, and get your butts handed to you. You fear that more than anything.

By the way, yes SDSU is a contender for the FCS playoffs (see 2008 season). Course, unlike your AD and FB coach we play the best, and we play to win. If we scheduled a couple of patsies we would have been in the playoffs this year. Hmmmmmmmm, easy W: ......... maybe we should have scheduled USD this year?
