It's amazing what hypocrits that the admins that run this site are. It's OK for Jacks fans to take shots at USD and their basketball venue in a non smack area but yet a USD Fan can do the basic same thing in the smack area and get banned. Practice what you preach.

So, Coyote Fan, were you at the game? If you were, can you honestly say ther were 5900 there? This isn't any smack...just facts. I was there and no way in hell were that many there. Why can't they just give the correct numbers? They would have to purchase turnstiles to get the job done. Heck, I walked in and didn't show anyone my ticket that I didn't have to pay for. So how in the heck do they count?

There are no turnstiles in the Dump...How can they count? Like I said, I had a ticket given to me (again) and walked in and there was no one even checking to see that I had one. Maybe they have some high tech scanner or something that counts without you knowing it.

There are no turnstiles in the Dump...How can they count? Like I said, I had a ticket given to me (again) and walked in and there was no one even checking to see that I had one. Maybe they have some high tech scanner or something that counts without you knowing it.

Actually, I know the methodology they use:

1) They know how many season tickets they have sold, and they put down that number, whether they are there or not.

2) They know how many tickets they sell at the ticket booths that game and they put down that number.

3) They know how many full-time students they have, and they divide it by 2, because they are sure that 50% attend every game.

4) Then someone looks at the crowd and decides if more than 50% of the students are there, and adds that on.

Kind of undercut by the fact two years ago (as reported in the numbers provided to the Board of Regents), gate receipts for all athletic events for the year for USD were (approx) $218,000, and for SDSU were (approx) $480,000!!

I was also at the Augie game. I also thought the attendance was somewhere in the 3-4 range. They have enough students to fill one end of the bleachers and that wasn't packed. Only thing that helped them is that there was almost as many augie students there as there were coyote fans. Myself and two friends also had tickets given to them as we entered the game as someone was there and couldn't use all he had. I will say that they did take them though in my case. I decided that it was much more important to be in Frost on Saturday than return to the grain bin for the Saturday game.

Just to clear up, I was at the Augie game and was at the SDSU Centenary game on Saturday. I did not attend the St. Cloud game, just noted the attendance in the paper...Didn't want you to think I went to the dump again.

Whoever said that there were as many or more Augie students than USD fans is completely misguided. There was a section of Augie students and there were maybe 100 of them. Augie had a good showing of fans but they were still outnumbered by at least 3-1. The attendance at the Augie game seemed to be well above the St. Cloud game. I can honestly say that I thought 4,500 was about right for the Augie game and maybe 2,500-3,000 for the St. Cloud game.

But why do you really care what the attendance was in Vermillion. You should be focusing on your own attendance and trying to figure out how accurate that is.

So how many more years does Nagy have before he is out the door. Did I read that right 3-15 in the Summit League. That is not real good folks. D1 or not thats laughable. As terrible as USD is in basketball this year they would finish better than 3-15. Morgenthaler should be on the way out of these years.

And on another note why is it that some of you still go to games in Vermillion if you think it's such as dump. If I thought that way I really wouldn't go to a game there. And why is it that a fan of D1 basketball would go to a D2 game. Are some SDSU fans that desperate to see a team from South Dakota win a game.

I haven't set foot in that place since we lost the intramural championship in 1997. If you know anybody who wants a free ticket to a USD game let me know, I can get you as many as you want, including a seat in one of the "suites". I have no idea where or what they are but I've got dibs on tickets anytime.

Let's see. You claim Augie had 100 students. I find it hard to believe Augie would bring in more than 400 non-student fans. 100 + 400 = 500. usd2 had 3-1 edge in attendence over Augie. That puts attendence at 2000. What kind of usd2 Mathematics let you come up with 4500.

Figure out the math all you want but I did not say the ratio was 3-1, I said AT LEAST 3-1, big difference. It could have been 5-1, 10-1 or whatever. Since you are such a math wizard you should understand what = to or > means. I don't know who's math skills are better but I guess they teach better reading, logic and comprehension skills at USD.

As usual, you have no idea what you're talking about.

Luckily, you'll see soon enough that D1 basketball (like D1AA football) is a big change from the Midland Lutherans of the world.

I'd spend some time explaining how you can't play zone all the time in D1 or you'll get killed by threes (better shooters at this level) or about how you need more athleticism on your roster. When the other players are a step quicker at every position than your team, how will you create shots?

But I won't waste my breath.
