    Same advice I'd give to prospective student athletes on the choice between SDSU (Firefox) and USD (IE)

    Firefox is highly recommended from here as well. I'd never use Internet Explorer unless I absolutely, positively had to--it's a security and performance train wreck.

    Agreed, I prefer Firefox. It does occasionally make some downloads and other "windows" products a little more difficult to use. Gates doesn't want to make things too easy.

    It's a heckuva lot better than Explorer... it updates constantly, unlike Exploder. I've had very few problems with script errors or the browser "seizing up".

    And the cool thing about Firefox, it also has built in filters to warn you against "phishing" sites. Not the band, mind you, but sites that want to steal your information.

    Definitely worth the three minute download, Nidaros.

    There is a ton of info at that site, but I am not surprised how little I know. I need to take some time and sort this all out. I dont have any problems when I am connected with Medicomm high speed. I have heard of Foxfire but did not know they had a browser.

    Could be a lot of things. Your browser might be out of date. If you're on Windows, I suggest you download the latest version of Firefox:

    No clue but you do have one up on me with the links thing. It always takes me about three tries to get it right.

    Posting links are easy and I pretty much got that one down pat. I do have old guy computer problems though such as how do you keep a internet explorer browser from timing out when you are using dial up? Now that a real old guy problem I am having and dont have any answer. Getting a high speed provider is the easy answer, but what if you are stuck with dial up?
