Let's see... AJ is significantly younger than your precious Lavin...not to mention more successful. Boy, that's gotta be a burn that a wonderboy like AJ could move on while Lavin stunk it up in his D-I experience.

And SDSU is light-years ahead of where USD could ever hope to be.

992 miles: that's the distance the University of South Dakota will be traveling when it plays West Texas A&M next fall.

It is getting there by bus.

The Coyotes are hitting the highway because it already has plane trips to Central Washington and McNeese State (La.). True, the players are young bucks and can handle a long road trip. But I still wouldn't want to be 6-5, 310, beat up after a football game and want to get back on a bus for an all-night ride.

USD is making its Division I move beginning in 2008. A concern has been the ability of the school to handle the bigger budget. When your marquee sport has to bus 992 miles, that concern is validated.

A word to the 'Yote fans, if you are going D1, you can stop with the 1,000 mile bus trips.  It has to be tough to tell a recuit that you are going to play West Texas A & M (Who???) and that you are going to take a bus trip to get there and back.  If your budget can't pay for the plane tickets, maybe you should rethink that whole D1 thing again.

"your precious Lavin", I hope you are not talking to me because if it was up to me I would go in a different direction for USD's head womens coach. So when you say those quotes it doesn't apply to me. Lavin is an "ok" coach but I think USD can do better.

Gimme a break USD's budget is not in place as of yet. They are already flying twice as far as I know. I commend Meierkort for scheduling this game regardless of the transportation and bugetary concerns. This schedule is a good thing for USD so I am not going to let some ill informed SDSU or NDSU fan(s) tell me different.

BTW I think your women's basketball coach made the right decision today in returning to SDSU over Wisconsin Green Bay. I would see if if he went to the Big 10 or something like that but right now SDSU and WGB are about even to me for desirable jobs. With that said though I consider women's basketball a distant third to mens hoops and football. I care and follow those two sports, and want them to succeed alot more than I do women's hoops. Not being sexist but those are the sports I grew up watching and will remain loyal to first. Women's basketball for me just takes a back seat out of necessity. Unfortunately I do have to work for a living so the mens hoops are taken first on my calender leaving few opportunities to see the women's program if they stop playing double headers.

I would take one football title before I would take five womens successfull seasons.

So instead of, oh I don't know, planning a little smarter and perhaps RAISING more money for the department what did they do? They went after one of the only decent programs you guys had. That's like the doctor telling you to lose thirty pounds, so you cut off your leg.
