OK. Now I kind of get it. I don't think the campaign has caught on very well. This was announced in July:

VERMILLION, S.D.—South Dakota's athletic marketing department is pleased to announce the 2015-16 FeaRed campaign. The campaign will guide the department's visual message across multiple platforms for the 2015-16 school year.

I think it means "Fear Red" as in their colors, but I do not understand why there would not be a space.

Not sure if you are being serious but it's being used as a hashtag, that's why there is no space. Just like SDSU uses #GetJacked for wrestling and #MarchTogether for men's Basketball.

but if you fear red, does that mean if you see a stop sign, red light, you should not proceed because you fear it, if you see a woman wearing a red dress you should fear her, if you see a red car. fear it. what? what if you fear nothing? you should fear red or ed because they say it. does it mean fear repubicans because thats the color someone chose for that party. leave that last one alone you norwegian blue people. shouldnt it be fear anything associated with USD. as forrest gump said. stupid is as stupid does.

Apparently for cuteness, the USD catch phrase is spelled FeaRed, which few are going to understand. It's a marketing campaign that needs another marketing campaign to explain. FeaRed Ed?

Especially if she is unclean, or from USD…..which means she is probably unclean. Just kidding, but seriously, avoiding unclean women is a good idea.
