I've heard they're considering not even hiring a new president.

Maybe UND is just going to close up shop. Buh-bye.

The article states he has been at UND since 2008. I am surprised he has stayed as long as he has. He has had a rough job but apparently has made progress in improving the Law and Medicine schools. I don't think they will be closing the doors anytime soon.

He is the second coming of the Roughriders since Teddy,........ except he forgot to carry a big stick.

When you are fighting the Battle of Little-Big Horn from a US Cavalry point of view and there are about only 10 men still able to fight, the big stick is of little consequence. What I am saying is the battle was pretty much done when Kelly came on the scene.

IRC, this was what it was when he took over in 2008. I think he done what most presidents would do and try his best to follow the NCAA regulations so as not to jeopardize their standing with the NCAA. I believe they were in the transition period as well. A big wooden beam would not have helped him nor even a transmission line Pole. I can't help but think that there were a few days where he wondered "Why did I take this job?"

That's funny, Rowdy. ... If UND decides to go with a nickname, I kind of like Sundogs. It would be different. Hard to put on a sweatshirt but unique.

I am sure somebody will be offended by it though.

Rough Riders will work, I really don't care for the hawk references as you don't see that many hawks in the trees of Grand Forks. I still like the flickertails as that is representative of North Dakota and very close to golden gophers to the east.

I think next they will get it down the to the final three and then a decision will finally be made.

Interesting point is is that a grand forks high school has the rough rider nickname.
