During a live chat last month someone asked Zimmer when he thought the UND name issue would be resolved. I thought his answer was perfect. "Who knows? That school is on another planet as far as i'm concerned".

taking cultural sensitivity into account and thinking of all the groups that could find offense with the suggestions on the list of names, having no name is the way to go.

I'd enjoy the UND crowd submitting for the Soo (ties to the now defunct SOO Line Railroad). Change to a train (ie Boilermakers of Purdue) as mascot. Fans still get to scream, Let's Go Soo!

Ermine or Ferret seemed a good choice, as did the Nakota (ND State Horse).

I was surprised how frequently SDSU ended up in the discussion (usually when looking at either Prairie Dogs or Flickertails as Mascot).

One person suggested " Jackrabbits" because no other team has that mascot? About a dozen people suggested Coyotes. Odd
