    Yeah, go Detroit.

      Re: Vikings

They're doing everything they can to lose this one. I will renew my call for Chilly to be fired. The guy has tons of talent on this team, and they still stink. The Vikings are in first lace because they're in a very bad division. Maybe with a real coach, they'd be contenders. They're not going to be contenders with the Little General in charge.
      Holy nutmeg!

And now Jackson is in, the Vikes might be screwed

Did anyone see the hit on Allen?? I thought it was cheap, no reason to put a helmet in someones knee when you are on the ground. Allen wasn't that close to Culpepper that a hit like that was necessary. Sure people are going to say it's a payback to Allen, but Allen is making a tackle, I wouldn't say he necessarily went after the guys knee, unlike this play were it seemed pretty obvious

            Re: Vikings

That was a cheap hit. Allen seemed to really get going after that, though. And let's give Tarvaris some credit. He played really well.

I still think Brad Childress is the worst coach in the NFL, though.
            Holy nutmeg!

Agreed, Chilly needs to go, I have a feeling the Vikings are going to make the playoffs and Childress is going to keep his job for another year.

Really impressed with Jackson's performance today, didn't make a lot of throws but made the ones he needed to. The touchdown to Berrian in the first quarter was a beauty.

I hate to give The Big Chill any credit, but the coaching staff finally did a good job of coming up with a game plan that put T-Jack in a position to be successful. And it certainly helps when AP can run for 165 yards! Key stat: no turnovers for Tarvaris. Today's game should be a huge confidence boost for the kid.

When talking about the Giants playoff picture at the end of tonight's game, Al Michaels mentioned that the Vikings would move up to the NFC's #2 seed if they win out and the Giants lose the rest of their games. But I've suffered through four Super Bowls and Denny Green taking a knee ... I'll believe any success this team has when I see it.

Good thing we don't have to worry about the Vikings getting the #2 seed now. Jackson played pretty decent today but holy crap hold onto the football. The Falcons couldn't stop the Vikings offense, but the Vikes pretty much handed the game to them losing 4 fumbles.

Hopefully the Packers can get a win over the Bears tomorrow so the Vikes can sneak into the playoffs because I don't trust this team against the Giants next week.

                      Re: Vikings

Last week's choke job by the Vikings put even more doubt in my mind, so I'm pleasantly surprised with the outcome of today's game. But they hung in there, and kept fighting for the win when they could have looked at the scoreboard in the 4th quarter and backed in with the Bear's loss.

Gotta wonder what Coughlin was thinking with the timeouts at the end, trying to "ice" Longwell? I could understand if the Giants were playing for something, but they had nothing to gain by winning this game. That made the 50-yard game winner that much sweeter!

Now the Eagles. I think the Vikings still have room for improvement -- especially special teams and AP has to hang on to the ball! If they can do that and T-Jack continues to play well, I'll be cautiously optimistic about a win.

Just a minor detail here Animal House, they couldn't have looked at the scoreboard, Chilly made sure that score wasn't being shown. One of the few good moves he has made.

That clock mismanagement at the end negates any smart things he did Sunday. Chilly must go.

Agreed, not sure why he was managing the clock like that, there was 30 seconds left and they still had a time out, letting Peterson run then call a time out with 5 seconds left, not call a timeout with 9 seconds left, then run a play after the Giants call a timeout, so they can call another timeout.
