Apparently the loss of the "Gritty" Nick Punto has affected the Twins play as they are putting on an ugly display

Yeah, I can't even watch the game. It's horrible. Pavano is having some major issues, and Nishioka isn't having the greatest night. Losing Punto sucks

Why? I really wish we still had him. What about him did you not like?

He played hard, I'll give him that. But he played too much. Sometimes he played a lot due to injuries to other players, but still way too much.

            Batting average
            2004 - .253...38 games
            2005 - .239...112 games
            2006 - .290...135 games
            2007 - .210...150 games
            2008 - .284...99 games
            2009 - .228...125 games
            2010 - .238...88 games

Utility infielders are known for their defense, which is what Punto was for the Twins. BUT, utility players don't play as much as he did. In today's game a guy who hits .228 should not play in 125 games. If it was 1970 it could happen, but not now.

Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. I still miss having him though. I just hope that we can do much better than tonight in the future.

                Worry not my friends.

The Twins typically play the Blue Jays about as well as they play the Yankees.

On a side note, I had a dream, or shall I say a nightmare, last night that the Twins re-acquired Nicholas Punto just before the season started.

Thank God I woke up before I had to watch him bat.

Reason # 1 would be that he got paid about 4 million $ more than what he was worth last season.

It only took 21 innings, but the Twins finally have a lead! And a home run

I swear the Twins give up more 1st run innings than any team in the history of Major League Baseball.

                                I'm SO sick of it.
