Apparently the loss of the "Gritty" Nick Punto has affected the Twins play as they are putting on an ugly display
"The purpose of life is not to be happy - but to matter, to be productive, to be useful, to have it make some difference that you have lived at all."
-Leo Rosten
Why? I really wish we still had him. What about him did you not like?
He played hard, I'll give him that. But he played too much. Sometimes he played a lot due to injuries to other players, but still way too much.
Batting average
2004 - .253...38 games
2005 - .239...112 games
2006 - .290...135 games
2007 - .210...150 games
2008 - .284...99 games
2009 - .228...125 games
2010 - .238...88 games
Utility infielders are known for their defense, which is what Punto was for the Twins. BUT, utility players don't play as much as he did. In today's game a guy who hits .228 should not play in 125 games. If it was 1970 it could happen, but not now.

Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. I still miss having him though. I just hope that we can do much better than tonight in the future.
