    Re: Brandon Wegher

Brandon had 113 yards rushing on 16 carries including his career long 32 yard TD run to clinch an Orange Bowl win for Iowa over Georgia Tech. Congrats to Brandon.

I think of all the posts on the board yesterday, this is the most important. Great game by Wegher...great victory for Iowa...nice bowl season for the Big Ten.

Riley Rieff from Parkston started for the Hawkeyes as well.

Wegher kind of put that "no speed in the Big Ten" baloney to rest when he scored that final touchdown. Those GT DBs didn't have a chance.

Bulaga announced he is headed to the NFL, so you can probably pencil in Reiff at left tackle next year.

I have to somewhat disagree on the speed thing. A the best backs in the Big 12 and SEC could have taken that same play to infinity. I'm not sure Wegher could have squeezed another 10 yards out of it.

It was a pretty big vacancy he ran through. And how stupid is GT's coach? Iowa ran the same play a couple of plays earlier for about 15 yards. The only difference was that on the TD, GT had about 11 players within one yard of the line of scrimmage... really dumb.

Iowa isn't super fast. But they're fast enough.
                Holy nutmeg!

Time to fire up the rumor mill again. Teddy Shonka tweeted that there was a Brandon Wegher look-a-like at practice today and later tweeted that he's 95% sure it was him...

There have been more sightings of this poor kid than D. B. Cooper, Elvis and the Sasquatch combined. Here's another recent rumor: http://www.siouxcityjournal.com/spor...db00dc99a.html

And there you have it. Would the Iowa Western coach allow time off for a trip to Brookings? Maybe!!!
