The advantages they are allowed to have versus the rest of the FCS are staggering and they can't get it done. Oh, and please don't give me the higher scholastic standards argument either. They get their choice of the brightest and best so that is a non-factor.

Join a conference and give up the damn tv contract so I don't have to watch some miserable team just because they use to be The Irish.

        Obviously, I meant BCS.

The biggest advantage they have is their own TV contract. It's one thing to be on tv more then everyone else but to be allwed to negotiate their own TV contract is a distinct advantage. Now, I can't imagine NBC is to keen on it right now since they are down.

The fact that they are an independent Catholic school is the only reason that works. Otherwise, you would see other schools go that route. They have a long, rich tradition which they have earned and can't be denied. The TV contract is unfair.

With the advantages and tradition Notre Dame has they should almost never lose a game, period.

No program has done so little with so much. The longer it stays that way, the happier I'll be.

I agree with you on the TV contract it is unfair, but as an Irish fan I like being able to watch every home game. But ESPN usually puts them on TV so it doesn't really matter

They may have their own TV contract, but every other college game is on TV nowadays. The Big 10 has a network, the Pac-10 and Big-12 have the Versus channel, The SEC has CBS and ESPN. The fact of the matter is all college football is now on TV.

                Re: Charlie Weis

I don't get why the TV deal is unfair. The Big 10 made a huge push to get them to join a few years back, offered them many enticements that other schools in the league didn't get, and ND said no, we will stay where we are. That may be a mistake given where they are at now, but maybe not. I don't think the fact that it is a Catholic school has anything to do with it. Do you really think the Penn State would have joined the Big 10 if they had been offered the same deal from NBC? No way. Getting deals that you conference mates don't have, that would be unfair.

Can we get a money game with The Irish? I think that is one we could win. What bowl are they projected to play in?

Join a conference, get a playoff system and lose the God complex.

I'm post call and looking to piss some people off. That should do it.

I respect you JM, but that does upset me a little. I don't see what the big deal about them joining a conference is, they also have the required number of games, they have many traditional games they play every year, which I'm not sure if they could do if they were in a conference.

They have the 6 wins necessary to get into a bowl game, I believe its 6 for a bowl, but I'm hoping they reject the bowl invite and not embarrass themselves. As for the Jacks playing the Irish, not going to happen as the Irish have never played an FCS school.

They are a Catholic school of course you are going to hear about God when you watch them. Touchdown Jesus is a huge thing to them and NBC brings it up all the time, it's a historic thing for the alumni, students, and fans of the Irish.

I'm done talking about this, I think Charlie should have been fired, I'm sick of watching top 5 recruiting classes to absolutely nothing, they need someone at the helm that can get these guys to play. I'll leave it at that.

They don't even deserve a bowl invite despite their 6 wins. Only one of their wins was against an opponent with a winning record...Navy!

I bet our friends up north feel they are worthy to fill the void if Notre Dame declines their invite. I mean, they are the mighty Bison!

That's what I meant when I said I hope they don't take it, the don't deserve one

                          Oh you ND haters!!!

But I do agree, they are bad. And when I say bad, I mean they are extremely bad. Four first downs and 91 yards against your biggest rival? Charlie Weis should be thanking his lucky stars they didn't throw him out on his head after that debacle. He obviously can't develop talent if there is so much on this team.

I like sticking it to the NU fans too. There is a pile of them down around Yankton. I think I learned to behave this way when I was young and impressionable. My older cousins would heckle the OU fans during the end of the Switzer era. Not having a DI FBS program in the state you find a variety of fans.

Right now you can hammer away at the Miami fans, the NU fans, the Irish fans, the Florida St. fans and now Auburn for the boneheaded firing.
