  • Charlie Weis

I have just been checking a couple Notre Dame message boards after their severe beat down by USC and those people are going a little crazy. The trend seems to be that a few people claim sources within the AD at ND saying Weis will be gone on Monday and Brian Kelly from Cincinnati is the new hire. I guess we will see.

On another note, another guy has claimed that the school will name Urban Meyer as the new coach. That has about a snowball's chance in hell of happening if you ask me.
"All I know is what I read on the message boards."
"Oh, well, there's your problem, then."

And to add, it seems the world is burning down all around some of those guys on their message boards. For some good entertainment you can check it out at Irish Illustrated. Its a rivals.com board.

Personally I don't appreciate their lashing out at Iowa fans. Little unwarranted.

Irishenvy is a good one too. Scout.com has him coming back for another year. That USC game was tough to watch.

according to espn, charlie will return next year. if he doesnt have a 8 plus win season next year, he'd better be gone.

Damn right he better be gone. With all that talent he has. What he needs to do is get a whole new offensive staff. The o-line is terrible.

Gotta be honest...I watched the USC/ND game the other night. I have a hard time believing ND would win a first round playoff game in the FCS. Yuck, Yuck, Yuck.

            USC looked like men.

            ND looked like boys.

There was a very noticable difference.

In my view, college football is more fun when Notre Dame is really good because people either love to see them win or love to see them lose (when they're supposed to win).

I couldn't care less what happens to Notre Dame. I am willing to admit that I am in the minority but that doesn't mean I have to understand our accept it. If the axe falls hard and Notre Dame loses even more of its mystic so be it. Join a conference and give up the damn tv contract so I don't have to watch some miserable team just because they use to be The Irish.

Notre Dame will always matter. It doesn't matter what their record is, they will always be talked about. If thy're crappy, the talk is how bad they are. If they're good, it is always ND is overrated. If they don't have the tv contract with NBC, ESPN is always going to put them on. Every away game ND has, they are always on ESPN, ABC, CBS. Everybody is looking for the ratings, and ND brings that.

I'm not even sure why he is coming back in the first place. I had two good years only to get absolutely spanked in the bowl games. I can't stand watching him coach, I really can't. He's an offensive coordinator that lucked into a head coaching job. It's so painful to watch his teams, he's had a top five recruiting class every year he's been there but his teams are getting worse. Eat his contract and get a guy that can actually coach.

agree with everything you say. the only thing i cant figure out is, where he thinks he is so offensive minded. how many first downs at usc did they have? its been pathetic and embarrassing.

Does anyone else think Notre Dame struggling like this is hilarious. How can a team that has it's own TV contract (illegal IMO), that everyone wants to play for, that plays one of the worst schedules, and that consistently has a top recruiting class continue to suck year after year?

The advantages they are allowed to have versus the rest of the FCS are staggering and they can't get it done. Oh, and please don't give me the higher scholastic standards argument either. They get their choice of the brightest and best so that is a non-factor.

They are the Yankees of FCS Football.

                          GB, GB, GJ!

UUMMMMMM, Last time I checked, Notre Dame was an FBS team, and while independent, had serious cred for BCS teams.

You are correct and I'm guessing SUPERBUNNY just made a typo.
