UWM is having a hard time this year keeping any of its scholarship players on the team.

1.) Avery Smith: dismissed from team before season started
-lead team in scoring last year
2.) Roman Gentry: transferred to USD after wanting to be closer to his daughter in Iowa
3.) Torre Johnson: dismissed from team after an off court incident
-was leading team in scoring this year before being dismissed
4.) Kevin Johnson: didn't return to team this semester
-was a high recruit out of Chicago, came from high school team that ended up being ranked #1 last year (didn't have a great attitude and didn't want to work for his playing time)
5.) Tim Flowers hasn't dressed for the last 7 games because of personal reasons (came from same high school as Kevin Johnson) was a bigger recruit than Kevin Johnson; but talk is both thought they could come to UWM and not have to listen anybody or work hard to garner playing time. Flowers is still on the team but still unclear if he will return.

But the good news is UWM has been playing well as of late through this adversity.

So it just goes to show that there are some college basketball teams that go through some bad stretches like SDSU.

What is crazy, is they're playing their best basketball right now. Partly because Jeter can't yank anyone for a bad play because he doesn't have anyone to put in for him. But, also because I think Jeter has calmed down and the players look like they're actually having some fun. They are in the upper half in the league without most of their "studs" from the beginning of the season. Who woulda thunk it.
