I don't think this is correct. I remember Duke players going to the locker room early (not sure it was against UNC) but I can't recall a court storming at Cameron. It's probably happened but not for quite some time and hasn't happened since Roy Williams has been at UNC.

Yeah I don't think Duke fans storm the court at least they haven't recently. A few years back, Coach K at the end of the game told and motioned the Cameron Crazies not to come on the court. I believe he said we don't do that here. We expect to win.

Another shows a fan hip checking KU forward Jamari Traylor. That one has been shown extensively. In the same video, a fan runs by Brennan Greene (KU guard) and hits him in the face with an elbow. Everyone's seen the fans smash Coach Bill Self and Coach Bruce Weber into the scoring table. Another fan runs from BEHIND KU's bench to the floor and extends the double middle finger salute in the faces of KU players.

That is not court storming. That is violence from fans attending the game directed toward players and coaches on the floor, a place where fans have no business during or after the game. If fans do storm, they should do it toward mid-court, as most do. K-State fans chanting "F$CK KU" non-stop for two hours and then storming the court in the manner they did was classless, dangerous, and should be stopped.

I hope the ones that you pointed out are at a minimum banned from any further KSU events. I would even go as far as expelling them from school. No need for that. I would be sorely disappointed and embarrassed if our students did anything like that against NDSU or USD or any opponent for that matter.

It should be the momentx(like winning the confrence) you celebrate not the team you beat when student storm the court Unless its the #1 team, Maryland is ranked top 25, frankly they should expect to win the game which ususally i feel during the regular season, if you are suppose to be good you dont have much reason to rush the court, you should expect the win regardless of the ranking of the other team.

If you go on the court, go to celebrate. Don't talk to and certainly don't touch any of the players. That goes for players of your team as well. Remember when dip**** Bison fans tackled Woodside.

Witnessed 3 regular season football field storming in my day:

NDSU UND 1993 - UND ended like 13 year L drought, tore down goalpost a little weak in my eyes
NDSU SDSU 2007 - I believe the students did. No problem there, Bison were ranked #1 & undefeated, Bowl Game talk, etc.
NDSU UNI 2014 - Also thought it was cool, especially since it was in the UNI dome and their students were rocking.

I thought this thread was about "court storming" not "field storming". Do you ever not think about football.

It is well documented here that Bison fans travel like Nebraska for Football & USD for basketball.

If you get a chance to watch the Maryland storming video again do it. They did a great job of protecting the players and coaches from the onrush of students and everything stayed orderly. an entire row of ushers/guards dressed in yellow vests came to the floor right away and protected the players and kept students from interfering in the post game handshake.

When a top 20 team's fans are storming the court, the fad has gone way, way too far, IMHO.

                              This x 1000!

I can see if a team wins a tourney championship. When a Kstate and a Maryland are doing it during regular season games it's gone too far.

Justin Sell had Nate on his podcast last week and Sell asked Nate about the fans storming the court after the first Summit League title. Nate was saying how crazy it was and that one of the guys fell down and it was kind of scary. He also said he was sore for a couple days afterwards. Man....sounds like all sorts of fun.

Don't disagree at all. I was just attempting to point out that while the largest part of us have become the old guy yelling at kids to get off his lawn there is a better way to handle it when the kids do come on the court.
