Re: Baylor faltering,major upset brewing?
I would not say that the refs, announcers, and the commentators were pro Baylor; but they certainly thought Griner was getting roughed up the entire first half. Griner never did go over the top on any rebounds either. Mulkey may have earned a technical after the Louisville was awarded one. However she is so small that it is hard to see her run onto the court screaming displeasure over a questionable call. It was certainly disappointing to not have Griner scoring career points in the tournament on TV. Darn it Darn it. By the way Baylor was in the bonus at 13 minute mark and Louisville only had 3 starters on the bench at the end with fouls. It was a gap at the end before the refs called the foul on Baylor as the Louisville player was slapped to the floor. The cameras did not show Mulkey on that play.Best to remember these are kids and they are doing everything they can to entertain us, be scholars, and all in all be great humans. Jackedforlife

Re: Baylor faltering,major upset brewing?
Louisville chose the ONLY conceptual method to beat Griner & Co. Shoot 3's and keep Griner from moving with the ball. Cards tied the Jacks' 3 record of 16 made 3's and were about 75% efficient from 3-land.
Loss couldn't have happened to a more deserving coach.

Soooo....Louisville coach gets T'd on a crappy charge call but Mulkey is practically stripping her clothes off in anger on the court DURING play after another crappy charge call...let's let that go. Refereeing in the women's college is pathetic at best. Pretty sure I would want my daughter playing for Kim Mulkey as much as I would want her dating someone in prison. Disgusting display of sportsmanship all around in that one. Control your emotions and act like you've been there b4 Kim. Pretty sure I posted something similar about 4 years ago.SDSU...Passionate, Relentless, Champions.

It was enjoyable to see Baylor lose. And not just because the Lady Vols were waiting for the winner. (Gotta Represent for the Snookums here!)
Kimmy should have had her ass tossed from the game for that display, regardless of score and time. Disgraceful."I think we'll be OK"

Re: Baylor faltering,major upset brewing?
I have been on the road so just got caught up on some basketball news via SportsCenter and other resources and pleased to see Louisville took it to Baylor in the women's NCAA.
I agree completely with zooropa, filbert, propar80 & 2002Jack on their expression of "good to see Baylor AND MULKEY take a loss". I think Griner is the real deal and have grown to respect her. Her life on the court hasn't been easy with every team usually trying to beat her up...but Mulkey, man, I just do not like her after the way she rode the refs in the SDSU game and as a result, SDSU was essentially deprived of the chance to play basketball by the worst reffing I had ever watched. And what a nice reminder: Louiseville's fabulous shooting tied the NCAA Tourney mark for threes...that's the mark SDSU co-holds from the TCU massacre in the opening round of the NCAA which preceded our game with Baylor. Mulkey watched SDSU tear apart TCU and she formed a game plan that had nothing to do with basketball, sportsmanship, ethics, etc. etc.
I love the following comment from Propar80:

Re: Baylor faltering,major upset brewing?
Watching the press conference I actually liked what Kim M. Sure she complained about the refs and didn't care if she got fined because why should she? She has no more Brittney Griner ever so why not go out with a bang. She also said not to put one ounce of blame on the players and if was completely her fault. That charge call was ridiculous and if the saying act like you've been there before is just dumb. She seems to get the best out of her players and players like playing for her. If I have a daughter that is good at basketball, I would send my kid there."This is your life and it's ending one minute at a time." -Tyler Durden

25pt favorites and 75-1 odds in Brittney Griners last year and losing in th Sweet 16 would make me upset as well."This is your life and it's ending one minute at a time." -Tyler Durden
