I would think that--Texas being Texas--a brand-new 28,000-student institution, trying to bring together four campuses in one region, would take a long, hard look at D-I-FBS football.

I would think that--Texas being Texas--that was one of the main reasons behind the consolidation.

13.5% of Division I schools are shifting conferences today(or already have). That jumps to 15.5% if you also include the moves that will happen a year from today. (so far)

I found it interesting that The Summit League web site dropped UMKC and Oakland two or three weeks ago. They took the "joining in 2013" comment from beneath Denver's logo at the same time.
