MIT football cheer plaglarized (say it out loud - it's more fun):
    e to the u, du/dx
    e to the x dx
    cosine, secant, tangent, sine,
    3.14159
    integral, radical, function weight,
slipstick, slide rule, LETS GO STATE!

          Re: From a recovering engineer!

I thought it was pretty clever (funny actually) for MIT students to use calculus and math terms to create a college cheer and thought others might enjoy it also. Anyone who has ever been in Crouthers Hall a member of the board?

I looked for my 1956 Calculus book to confirm that most math formulas were in lower case, but couldn't find it.

          Google confirms that fact though.

The thread was posted for your enjoyment only. Didn't mean to spoil anyones day! Guess you woulda had to been there.

Crouthers? The building that as a jr/sr CE spent the day enjoying? Dr. Dornbush & Rollag behind their glass office and mural? Heck ya, I suspect we have many CE, ME, EE, AgE on this board.

Now I understand what's wrong with this board...too many en-gi-neers (oops, sorry good friend Roy)! Any SE's around (that be social engineering ya know)!

Upon further review, it is indeed clever. Some might not get the slide rule part, but I do. BTW what is a slipstick? You got me there.

Just a nickname for slide rule. There were two options for engineers, Post or K&E. K&E probably had 70 % of the market. I was a Post guy. Still have mine with the leather case and belt loop.
