SDSU to inaugurate 19th president

The inauguration of David L. Chicoine, South Dakota State University1s 19th president, will take place on the stage of the outdoor Coolidge Sylvan Theatre at the corner of 9th Street and Medary Avenue at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 15.

State and national dignitaries as well as representatives from many colleges and universities will take part in the outdoor ceremony for President Chicoine. Inclement weather will move the ceremony to the Volstroff Ballroom in the Union. . . . (read more)

SDSU to inaugurate president Saturday

David Chicoine will be inaugurated as South Dakota State University’s 19th president on Saturday.

The ceremony will be at 1:30 p.m. on the stage of the outdoor Coolidge Sylvan Theatre, Ninth Street and Medary Avenue.

Gov. Mike rounds is scheduled to speak at Chicoine’s inauguration.

An inaugural reception will begin immediately following the ceremony and conclude at 5 p.m. in the South Dakota Art Museum. Transportation will be provided between the reception and continuing festivities on the campus’ northeastern edge.

Sylvan Theatre, dedicated Sept. 10, 1927, by President Calvin Coolidge, also was the site in the inauguration of SDSU’s 18th president, Peggy Gordon (Elliott) Miller. . . . (read more)
