  • SDSU 4th on tuition A-list

The 2/5/14 Collegian lead story is "SDSU places fourth on tuition A-list". It cites a new ranking of the top 30 colleges based on affordability, academic quality and accessibility, as determined by CollegeAtlas. SDSU is listed as #4 for out-of-state students. SDSU is ranked by the website at #51 for in-state affordability.

Here's a link to the website: http://www.collegeatlas.org/ Further links are provided to the lists for in-state and out-of-state students.

A co-worker's kid is comparing Iowa State vs SDSU. From his analysis, it was going to be about $1k-2k/yr cheaper at SDSU, and this is with being in-state for Iowa St and out-of-state for SDSU. Iowa residents used to have discounted tuition at SDSU, but I don't think that is the case anymore.

Are we staying competitive in MN and NE? Anyone know?

More than competitive with the U of MN. Five years ago when our youngest picked SDSU , in-state at MN was much higher than out-of-state in Brookings.
