  • FY2013 Board of Regents Athletic Report

The new report is online for the December meeting. http://sdbor.edu/theboard/agenda/201.../CommB/I_I.pdf

SDSU had $1.6 million in gate receipts last year and the other 5 schools combined for $617,393. It was also an increase for SDSU of $316,608 from the previous year. Total revenue at SDSU from all sources was up $1,033,772 for a total of $13,573,466.

USD had a nice increase $198,832 from the previous year for a total of $477,744. I wonder how much of that came from $40 tickets to Bison fans at Howard Wood Field. Their guarentee revenue was down $179,500 though in part because they only played one FBS game last year for the first time. Their total revenue was up $773,665 for a total of $9,467,139.

    Interesting things I noticed from FY12 to FY13 - corporate sponsorships almost doubled (884k to 1.5m), concessions/vending dropped from 258k to 76k?

Gate receipts for all other schools besides USD dropped.

Gate receipts for all other schools besides USD also dropped.
      Edit:

Now that I've had a chance to read the report a little more I remembered it has to do with funds allocated. Things like concessions, bookstore revenue, etc would be discretionary dollars for SDSU to spend. It doesn't necessarily mean sales are down just a change in the allocation. The bookstore revenue to athletics droped from $650,000 to $550,000. An even $100,000 reduction not in sales but in the amount distributed to athletics versus other projects at SDSU. I have the reports in excel now so I will post a break down by area pretty soon.
