Question, will there be a charter flight for this game? If so, I am very interested and would attend the pre-game event if I can make the charter flight work.

The Charter is through Athletics and will leave from SF (I hear it is almost full):

Sounds like most of the folks flying out commercially are going to LAX, but I think you could fly into the bay area and come south and still be ok. I believe the Charter flies right into SLO.

Thanks. Just checked into things on expedia and I can get airline tickets from Omaha right into SLO for under $300/each flying out Saturday morning and returning Sunday PM. I'm going to have to seriously consider jumping on a plane. No idea about hotels near Cal-Poly but I can figure that out.

Airline ticket flying into SLO with hotel for 1 night near stadium $390/person on expedia. I might just have to make this happen. Going to need the wife's permission first. Anybody want to meet me in Omaha early Saturday morning Oct. 3rd?

Following the advice of one of the elder members of the board I booked the trip and made it all but final today. Taking another member of the forum with me out to SLO for the pre-game tour and to watch two great teams on the field. Flying right into SLO (about $100 more than flying into LAX or the bay area but worth it IMO) and staying near campus. I think my wife thinks I'm crazy and to be honest I think she's right.

No doc, you are not crazy. You will love the opportunity for Jerry Lohr's tour and dinner. It is just great!!! I almost went, but some other circumstances got in the way, and so I'm going to have to settle for the Youngstown game and Missouri State as far as road games go this year (oh, well, never say never, because Western Illinois might beckon at the end! Went there the first time we played them and wouldn't mind going back...not a bad drive).

There is that old miltary cliche, "Smoke them if you got them", meaning if you had cigerettes you were allowed to light up. I know thats hardly fitting for a pulomary specialist, but I agree with Jack#1. I dont have the the resources to go, but I have met Jerry Lohr so am sure that part of the trip will be fun as well as the game. I only been in SLO once and that is years ago. Hopefully its still the most beautiful of the California Coast.

If I had the resources I would join you.

I would check flying into Santa Barbara. I flew from Omaha to Santa Barbara (through Denver) last year for a wedding which was at the Firestone Winery near Buelton, CA. The day after the wedding I drove up to San Luis Obispo. It was only 110 miles north on the 101. Very easy drive and you avoid the LA traffic.

Beautiful city and campus, I would agree that it should be on a "Bucketlist"
