You should have heard all of the yelling after Tom put it in the hole!  Congrats, Tom and the best news is $10,000 towards scholarships.

What did everyone think of the new format for the golf tournament?

I know I was thrilled about not having to be ready to play at 8:00 plus we had a blast with the other group that we played with!

What was the new format? They've been doing morning and afternoon for a couple years. Did they add a new wrinkle again this year?

Pretty great that there have been two hole-in-ones in the last three years. Congrats to Tom.

Who were some of the "Celebs" that were in town?
I updated my signature for the first time in six years.

I thought the format was great, It did take a little longer to play, but no big deal. It was actually better because you could interact and socialize with 10-12 participants during the 18 holes rather than just one team of 4-5. It was a very nice outcome I thought, and only heard positive comments.
I was in the group ahead of the hole in one, It was awesome, I didnt see it but I heard It!!

The new format was to play with 2 groups forming a 10-some and everyone teed off at 10:30. There were a couple of other rules that helped to speed up play as well. We had a gas playing with the other group. The year before it took 6 hours to play so it didn't seem much longer to me. If it was, it just gave a little more time on the course to have a "Stanley"!

The winning team was Marv Odegaard, Tracy Odegaard, Mike Redmond, Josh Bartels, and Levi Pearson. They had a 56!!!! Not to shabby!

The celebrity winner was none other than the "Polish Pistol" Scotty Kwas from depot radio! Don't know his score!

The overall winner was the student-athletes of SDSU!

My favorite part of the weekend was when Heather Sieller spoke before the auction. She thanked everyone for their support of SDSU Athletics and talked about how special it was for her to be a part of the transition from D-II to D-I. She is really a specail lady!

                No doubt about it.

It isn't ofetn you have an event that lasts that long period, but to see it continue to grow is really cool.

I talked to Nona Marshall at the event and she said that Dr. Marshall would be very proud of the event indeed!

Mark your calendars for next year! The event has always been the week after Memorial Day which will be June 1 and 2.

Just got back, took some extra time and hung around SD, and it was a great time (as it always is). I got the Nagy autographed basketball (amoung other things) it looks great in my office. The bookstore also had a lot of new and cool things. If you haven't been before you really should plan on going it is a super event.

I didn't ask for a name, but Coach Nagy tole me that they had another player commit to SDSU on Friday. Another great week-end in Jackrabbit land.

Tom Coughlin had quite a day at the golf course on Saturday.
The Brookings resident made a hole-in-one at the Brookings Country Club on Saturday during South Dakota State University's Stan Marshall Golf Tournament.
The hole-in-one netted Coughlin — an SDSU grad who now works at Daktronics — $20,000, with half going to fund scholarships for SDSU athletes and Coughlin pocketing the other half.  .  .  . (read more)

Derek Peterson really is doing a great job with the SDSU Bookstore and they have greatly expanded their offerings and are going to continue to expand.

89Rabbit, I think you should start another thread and move your post to there!

Question, I never did here which ball brought the most, AJ or Nagy? Always a competition!

I believe the competition was for Scott and A.J.'s wooden stools that they used during timeouts. They did not have those on the silent auction this year. I have one signed by each coach at home in my den.
